The Ponca City Aviation Boosters, a fixed-wing group, is having their monthly fly-in breakfast on Saturday, September 4. A group of gyro fliers in the area is going to attend, display their machines, and have an informal meeting to talk about forming a club. All interested gyro fliers are invited to fly-in or tow-in their machines. The Aviation Boosters welcome all types of flying machines.

Hope to see you there!

They serve breakfast from 8:00 to about 10:30. Most of the planes are gone by 11:00.

We are also planning a meeting on Sat. Oct 9 at the Guthrie airport for all those interested in starting a club and/or chapter in the OK area. More info to be posted soon. ;)

The fly-in took place Saturday morning and there were more gyro people there than I expected. Pictured are:

Top row, l to r; Walt Heitman, Jody Smith, Randy Brooks, Michael Guard, Duane Hunn, Sr.

Bottom row, l to r; Alan Coats, Lance Nitschke, Peter Hayes

Nobody ended up bringing their gyro to this event, but there should be some at the Guthrie event next month.

Lance, Thanks for that report.

I realize it's not very close to most of you, but you would all be more than welcome to attend our next fly-in at Bastrop, LA this next weekend, 9-10 to 9-12. It will be at the Morehouse Memorial Airport.

Lance,

Thanks for taking our picures and posting this one on the forum.

It was great meeting all the guys, and surprising how many showed up. I am glad to have a support group in the area as I get into gyro flying.

If there are any other gyro flyers in the area, please contact any of us in the photo. I think you'll find that this is a friendly, helpfull group.
We will at the very least build an e-mail address group to comunicate with each other.

We'll see where this goes from here!

I would like to also invite anyone to the nice fly-in that is put on at Shelbyville, Il. this coming Sept. 10-12th. Looks like the weather is going to be nice...at least the forecast is. Lots of nice guys and their gyros will be there. I am going to try and do better by posting man and machine this time.
