WHY

Hi racer
In regard to the PM's about the poly-V pulley, what material would you recommend for this application, keeping in mind that it must stand a press fit on the crankshaft, function as a bearing surface on the outside of the neck and hold up as a pulley ? When I was having the prop hubs made for the conversions the machinist recommended 86L20for the machinability, strength, and plating qualities, it was a bit expensive but very good stuff. I notice that on automobiles most of the poly -V pulleys are stamped sheet metal with an occasional casting here and there.
I have sent a e-mail off to Great Plains with the question "why is this Force One bearing feature not offered when using the belt re-drive" ?
Hope to hear from them first part of next week.
Tony
