I tried to log onto Norms forum both this morning and tonight and the server is down or something. Can't log onto rotorcraft.com either. Maybe Norms finally pulled the ole plug :'(

You're the second person today that I've heard say that they can't access Norm's Forum. So I went over and made a test post under the first topic. It seems to work for me.

I've tried to get on there all day. I've been getting "server unavailable" all day. I've also tried just logging into rotorcraft.com and getting the same message. I wonder how you're getting in Mike.... :-

I have been able to get on several times today but there is not much activity. I would expect Norm will have the challange resolved soon. Thank You, Vance

It is 1 pm here and the Norms Forum is still down. Oh well maybe some of those people will get off the high horse and come join us here now. I like Norms forum, but would rather us all be somewhere that isn't going to be up one day and down the next. Plus I like this format better.

Hi, It's 11:35 here and I was able to get onto Norm's forum. I can't guess what is going on. I prefer Norm's forum. Thank You, Vance

I have not been able to connect to Norm's site at all.

I did some scratching of my itchy dopamine receptors, as Larry_G likes to say. Here is what I found:

It appears that there is some kind of problem with "DNS binding", which causes the name rotorcraft.com to not be recognized except periodically, which is why some people manage to get in at various times.

I was able to locate the actual IP number for rotorcraft.com and append the name of the forum and it got me in.

try this:
http://206.105.66.3/forums2/

You should now be able to log in normally!

To Al Hammer:

Thank you oh great one!

Thank you for finding a way to log on! To those of us who believe computers have small gnomes inside the box tapping telegraph keys; what you do is magic.

It has become addictive to have two forums to scratch my gyro itch.

::) Thanks Jim.

I know what you mean. It was getting me down thinking Norm might be off the air.

This morning I did a WHOIS query on www.rotorcraft.com, and it seems that the domain had expired.

Now it appears that is been renewed. It may take awhile for the updates to take affect.

That may account for the sporadic 'DNS binding'.
