Took Shannons Stepmom for her first airplane ride - she only has been up once before in a jetliner so this was her first time up in a small plane. We flew around for a hour or so. She loved it and said that everyone in the family was wrong, that I DIDN'T do a bunch of crazy scary stuff like they all thought I would....... So I did a couple of stalls and some zero G flight and made sure she would go back and tell everyone they were right!

Then on Sunday my hangar next door neighbor - and good friend - Mike and I flew to Anson County airport for one of those hundred dollar hamburgers. Here he is getting a little close in for a pic or three!

Is that a skybolt? Looks like fun Ron.

Yes, it is a Skybolt. 300 Horsepower Six cylinder Lycoming, three blade carbon fiber constant speed prop, inverted fuel and oil, smoke system, the works! For Mike the trip to Anson and back truely was a 100$ trip, as this beast burns fuel at the rate of 25 GPH unless he really throttles back - which he doesn't do unless he is chasing me in my slow poke Pacer.

I got to go flying in it late yesterday afternoon for the second time. This plane will throw you back in the seat from level cruise flight when he slams the throttle wide open. Kinda like riding in a 5.0 Mustang or powerful Camero etc... It is a impressive airplane, climbs out at ridiculous angles and will hit over 200 mph doing buzzes down a runway.
