View Full Version : Cut-sheet for Ordering Materials

Going through the GyroBee documentation I drafted a preliminary cut-list in an attempt to make the most efficient use of materials (as little scrap as possible), allowing for blade kerf, etc. According to Wicks, 2 X 2 is available only in 6 foot lengths, which works out great for the GyroBee. But their site says that round tubing is sold in 12 foot or 24 foot lengths. I assume they cut it for packaging, but must be purchased in increments of 12 feet. This leaves more scrap than I'd like (shown in red on the attached diagram). The diagram was sketched so I could play around with dimensions to get the most out of 6 foot lengths.

The purpose of this post is to pick the brains of those who have ordered raw materials before. Anything I should keep in mind, or any materials that can be ordered by the foot? Any tips or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Respectfully,
Brian Jackson
