Flight simulator for the Bee?

May seem like a dumb question, but are there any flight simulators for the gyrobee? I thought there was a gyro plug in for MS Flight Simulator, but I'm not sure...Anyone know?

The only simulator I have found(that the average guy can afford) that even comes close to replicating the aerodynamics of a rotary wing aircraft is X-plane(www.x-plane.com). Microsoft looks pretty but when it comes to aerodynamics, particulary rotorcraft, it is not very good. I modeled a small open frame gyro in X-plane using "bee" specifications. It flew pretty well in earlier versions but a bug in the way the program calculates weight, landing gear and their contact with the ground, prevents you from landing(hops around like a jumping bean). You can download a fully functional version of the program to test. In fact the only difference between the full version and the one you download is that it runs for 6 minutes then locks out the flight controls each time you start it up and you are limited to southern california as a flight area. You can restart it as many times as you like though. Buying the CD unlocks the program and allows unlimited time and worldwide ops. You need a fairly fast comp and a good video card but the sim is excellent as far as aerodynamic modeling is concerned. There are a lot of free aircraft to be downloaded at www.x-plane.org and all of these can be run.

I have one I downloaded when FS2002 was the current version. It is modeled after the Gyrobee per the writeup, but has a KB type tail. It is 2.83 megs in size and is at AVSIM.Com under FS2002 original aircraft and the file name is ugyro2.zip.

The reason the model has a KB tail is that the prototype Bee had a KB tail. It is a cute little thing but in almost all respects its flying characteristics don't match those of the Bee or any other gyro.
