After a long night of chasing cars with the dog I came home and turned on the TV to unwind, flipping through the menu I stopped on the Discovery Channel show "Destroyed in Seconds". The first was a story about a test pilot who had a major crash in a new jet design, then a few months later he had another major crash in the same type of jet, he was relatively unhurt in both crashes.
The next story was about a helicopter crash, to set the atmosphere of that day they showed a Gyro fly by, I must say this gyro caught my attention...It was ME! then they showed a Helli cycle take off then another gyro crankin... that was Dave flying Tina's sport copter, then one more pic of me flying with my smoke system on, then the story went to Dennis Kenyon's crash at the High Desert fly in.
Not much to this story but it was kinda cool seeing yourself on national TV, especially when you had no idea.
I have no idea who shot that video but they did catch Dave and I doing what we do best.... Having fun in our Gyro's.

I'm sure it will but I do not know when. If I find out I will let you know.
Maybe someone will put it on You Tube someday.

It was on eposode 6 if anyone can find it.
Hi Todd,
That was the video I took in Utah that I sold to that show "Destroyed in Seconds". Sorry I forgot to tell you about it and you being in it flying your gyro. This episode has played now 3 times over. I have a copy of it and will try to put it on YouTube. I have it on DVD and VHS but not sure how to download it to my computer. Tim I think I have asked you once how to do that but forgot what you told me. I only know how to download from my camera.
Todd it must of been a total surprise to see yourself on TV. I can just hear you tell your friends and family and them saying "Ya sure" I bet that was funny
Again sorry I did not give you any heads up on that but it will be something you can talk about the rest of your life ;)

Tina,
There are a couple ways to dump video from a DVD into your PC. If your computer has a capture card in it you can connect a DVD player to the computer via the A/V cables, press play on the DVD player and record the video with whatever editing software you use.
If you do not have a capture card you can use your camcorder to digitize the video (depending on your camcorder having a video passthrough feature). To use your camcorder the DVD player would connect to the camcorder's A/V input/output cables and then the camcorder connects to the computer with the digital firewire cable. The camcorder is put in VCR mode and the video signal from the DVD player will digitize as it passes through the camcorder.
There may be other ways to do it but those are the only ways I've done it.

I do not think that is the episode, Dennis Kenyon did not have a co pilot.
There have been two different shows with Dennis Kenyon, One has a lot of coverage of Tina flying her Sport Copter and the other has the quick shots of Dave and I flying. I know the one Dave and I are in is the one where the show starts out with the test pilot who crashes the same jet twice both times destroying the jet and then decides to retire.

Did you catch this past week's episode with the out-of-fuel 737 (?) doing a dead stick into the water just off the coast of some Aussie (?) beach. It was a hijacked jet. Pilot and crew I think were among the ~20 survivors.
The best part? Fortunately, ALL the hijackers were killed.

I recorded both episodes last night and they weren't the correct ones. I'll keep looking for it.
