I was "kicking tires" the other day and noticed the keel and mast of the gyro I was looking at was 2 X 3. Does anyone know of sources of 6061 or aircraft quality equivilant in sizes bigger than 2 X 2?
I casually looked at Aircraft Spruce and the largest size was 2 X 2.
Thanks,
Mike

are you sure it is not a piece of 2x2 and 1x2 together? I have also seen 3 1x2's together.

No, the actual piece measured 1.75" X 3". It's single piece on one of the first Pitbull gyros.

You're welcome Mike,
I used to get 6061-T6 from Aircraft Spruce. But it seems that they have stopped handling it. I would just do a search on the Internet, if Wick's doesn't have what you want, and shop for the best price. If you find the tubing at a good price, then you probably should ask about it's condition. I have received tubing with heavy scratches and gouges that was present before it was shipped to me.

Try Ernie Boyette. He has all types of tubing. He even has stuff with internal webbing inside the tube

I talked to Ernie on the phone and he said he didn't sell raw materials.
I guess because I am not building a dominator.

If he will not sell it see if he will tell you who he gets it from this will take him out of the law suit if you crash. That is the only thing I can see him not selling it to you.
