What kind of gum are you chewing? looks like you're really enjoying it.
Seriously I was impressed, I like all the different video shot angles, that was good stuff.

Nice video! I agree that you need to submit it to Wrigley for a little sponsorship:)
Thanks for sharing I enjoyed the flight..

That was a great video. Who is serving the in-flight meals?
It is a beautiful landscape you are flying over.

Is that a Gentex SPH 4 helmet?

Kai.

Mike: Awesome video...good job! Its kind of neat that I flew that same mac engine back in 1985 over the cornfields of Illinois. You seem to have fewer engine outs than I did.

Glad ya'll enjoyed it.

It didn't take me long to figure out that when you're flying an open frame gyro and chewing bubblegum, it's best not to blow any bubbles!

Kai.

Yep, it's an old SPH-4.
One day I'll wire it up for radio if I don't get something else.

How do you like it in terms of weight, comfort, wind protection for the eyes?

I'm trying to get something from ebay. I think the HGU 56P is the successor, but nearly impossible to get, so SPH4 is the second best choice.

That was cool, very well done. loved the shots from differant angles.
reminded me on the Dan Donley video.

What kind of camera did you use?

Thank you Mike,

Your editing is exceptional and your flying first rate.

I need to learn to chew gum without opening my mouth.

I missed the landing!

Thank you, Vance

Tim,

I used a Canon SD870 (http://www.dpreview.com/news/0708/07082002canonsd870is.asp)digital still camera. It has a wide lens and takes pretty good video. Any jerkiness in the video is from the video editing software I used (Studio v9.4).
I just hand-held it at different angles.

Thanks Vance.
Since I was just holding the camera free hand, I couldn't capture the take off or landing. One day I'll get someone to video me taking off and landing, and maybe some air-to-air and I'll make another one.

Damn Mike,

You look like you know what you're doing, and you can fly well too, but you always have that cocky smirk on you're face.

Just joking, when you're good you make it look easy.

See ya at the airport or at the house,
Glenn

No your right, he does have that smirk on his face.
Mike let me know when you guys are flying and I will get you some footage.
Its better than I thought it was going to be and I knew it was going to be good.

Great video! It made me drool, with all the ground strafing you did. We're just about at the point here where we can fly any direction, for several miles, right off the deck. That's my favorite kind of flying, bar none.

I especially loved the s**t-eating grin at the camera at the end.

One of the best videos I've watched in a while. Give us some more!

Next time Mike Morgan & I can get together I'll shoot some more of both of us, with some air-to-air and takeoffs and landings.

Tim Chick has given me some pointers on video cameras, so one day I would like to set up some movable mounts for a bullet cam too.

Great video. Very cool.

I love the Black & Gold Pittsburgh Steelers color scheme. Well done indeed. :first:

That's not Steeler's colors. He wants a Dominator so he painted his Bensen the same colors. Just Kiddin Coonass.

I can't view the video but I can imagine what it is by some of the comments, especially the "strafing" bit.

I believe anyone that built and flew a MAC powered Bensen will say it's the best you can be in the gyro world. (Don't mention the MAC attacks.) ;)

Cheers :)

I must say "AMEN" to that! Every time I see or hear one on video I have a nostalgia attack!
About the "Mac attacks"; After I learned how to build and modify the Mac, I never had a failure. :noidea:

About the "Mac attacks"; After I learned how to build and modify the Mac, I never had a failure. :noidea:.I once had a Mac that ran for 300 hours until the crankshaft broke at a most inopportune time.

Crashed in a palmetto thicket and a young lady, rushing to rescue me ripped out the seat of her britches on a barbed wire fence. She seemed a little disappointed that I didn’t need medical attention; informing me that she just completed a Red Cross first aid course.

Before we had gotten a good handle on Macs, it was fly until the engine seized. The first time I landed with the engine still running was a little frightening.

Hmmm...

Young lady, ripped britches, desperate to render first aid...
I couldn't have passed it up. I woulda started twitchin' or something.

"Let me show you where it hurts". :)

I thought it was gum, not t'baki. :D

Still good flying, and I enjoyed the video greatly. Smirk or no smirk.

Hard to chew tobaccey on the gyro.
I also quickly learned that when chewing bubble gum while flying an open-frame gyro...

...don't blow any bubbles!
