Think he was a member here but Ron would know more.

I met him I believe at a Goose Creek Fly in.

Hirth powered GT 500. I remember the engine being a carb version.

Sorry to hear this.

Some of you here may have known him.

I spoke with Tims Wife Linda tonight on the phone, I believe she is dealing with this pretty good. Anyway, she is hoping to have a service for Tim by this weekend.

According to a friend of Tim's,
The Engine sputtered on takeoff, then he tried to do a 180 back to
the field, then the engine totally quit. Plane became unresponsive
and nosed straight into the ground. The field in the pictures of the
wreck is right beside the runway.

Here is his BIO:

A terrible terrible thing. Oddly there is another thread working right now about how trying a 180 on a take off failure is often fatal. Lets honor the man by learning how to survive.

I spoke with Mrs Moses last night and found out that the reason the engine stopped was because the crankshaft broke.

I will be starting a thread under engines about hirth.

My condolences.....

Why is it that always the most valuable people are called from earth ?

We lost so many pilots this year, it is a tragedy.......
