Todd,
You are right. If I push the F5 (refresh) key on every page as I read through the posts the "Forum Contains New Posts" and the "New Posts" flags go away. This works on both my office and home computer.
However before the last update work both computers did not have to do this (refresh each page) - and there is no setting on either computer to make it "refresh" each page automatically. Perhaps some setting accidentally got changed during the updates???

Yep, just like Ken said.

Let me look at some config issues. There might be a caching or reload setting that changed with the upgrade from 3.00 to 3.03. I'll let you know.

I did a little digging, the software is setup to automatically add a "nocache" tag to the top of each page. However I did a little jumping around and it appears that mine behaves just like you describe but I'm also pretty sure it always has. I'll do a little more looking around.

Todd,
I continue to push the F5 (Refresh) key after every back (return to previous page), but it is really a lot of extra work when there are a several new posts to read. I sure hope you find the cure to get it back to where it was. I appreciate your effort.

Just a question to others on the forum. Am I and Randy the only ones experiencing the "new posts" problem - not going away after you read them unless you refresh your screen (as discussed above)? Or are others experiencing this situation?

Sure wish it was like before! I keep hoping it can be fixed.
Ken, do you view newest first or newest last? Do you know of a way to just view new posts regardless of which thread they belong to?

If you view a thread and then go back, click "New Posts" it will update without hitting refresh. This helps a little.

I notice this quite a bit. In addition, if I leave the forum open for an hour or two, posts I haven't read yet don't display as such (not bold).

It's that way for me too.

Yeah, something has changed along the way. In the old days I could just keep hitting the back arrow and back my way out and the posts and forum(s) would be auto marked as read. Now I find I have to hit the refresh which marks the threads as read (most of the time, not always!) and then click on 'Rotary Wing Forum' to get back to the main page.
In the old days when I returned to the main page it would position me at the forum that I had just visited. Now I end up at the top of the page and have to scroll down to find the next one that has unread messages.
The only positive I've found is that if I get tight on time, I can back all the way out and it will show that there are still unread messages in that forum when I return.
I have also started having the problem that Brian RotoPix is having.

It is hit or miss for me as well. Thank You Vance

Randy, your suggestion to click on "new posts" each time is a good one. Thanks.

I've done a bunch of research on this the past two days. Everything I've found said the "nocache" setting I have should be making it work...buts its not. I need to get ahold of tech support for vbulletin and try to get it figured out.

Todd,
I don't know if this will help you troubleshoot, but when I go and view a link that someone posted and then go back to the forum, it updates to show what I viewed and only shows new posts or posts that have not been viewed.
