Just playing around with some images and trying to make something I could put on a tee shirt or something. Does this look neat? I made several different versions but I think this grabs your attention..... jtm

Hi James, I think it is wonderful. I think that it combines the past and present in a very pleasing way. Thank You, Vance

James,
That looks great! Send me a very high-res .jpg or an .eps file of that and I'll make you a t-shirt. I can also put it on a sticker or a mouse pad for you.
(High-Res = 10 meg per sq/ft)

Ummm if I HAD a radial engine...... that wasn't JUST in my mind... hmmm - Anyone got one they can crate up? lol
Okay Rich, will try to downsize it.... and post. Thanks for the comments.
I am going to save the layers on the above setup so that sometime when we get a bunch of them together..... I'll update the photo.
Walker, thanks for the offer. I will try to see what I can do to get it up to 10 megs. jtm

Okay, The story behind the logo. I was looking for something old fashioned for noseart just like the old days. I came across some nose art and it said "Ill Wind" I loved the color of the art and since I often spelled Ron's design as LiL Wing when I was trying to produce other logos it seemed even more appropriate. Just change a few letters from Ill to Lil and Wind to Wing and I don't think you could get any closer. Some of our little fun items will say Lil Wing Boosters and my SP frame will just say Lil Wind. On my frame I have made it so on either side of the frame the umbrella will be blown towards the tail. (airframe - c'mon) Hope you like it. jtm

I like the other one best. Can I buy a Shirt? Phil Ruffin can make shirts for you cheap if you could email him the logo.

Hi Ron,
The logos are for two different purposes. The second one is actually placed on the fuselage and becomes a part of the plane. It says Lil Wind and umbrella tilts towards the tail so it looks good in that application. The first is definately for promotion and to raise public interest.
The first one I am still working with. I am trying to see how good I can get it to export. I will try to get the biggest file I can to see what it will do. I will also need to talk to Ron and see if he minds the same exact name being used. If there is a problem I will have to change it to LIL instead of Little..... I'll keep working it a bit and we'll see what we can do with it, ok? jtm

Jim,
It's pretty easy actually. Just resample the graphic to a higher dpi. You might also want to make it 12"x12" in the computer so you will know how it will really look.
I'm on cable modem, so large files are not a problem for me, but you might want to burn the image to a CD and mail it to me. If so I'll get you my mailing address.

Ain't it fun guys, building a gyro, just so you can have a place to put your nose art! Especially if it is a Little Wing. Littlewing Booster Rich.

okay I am playing with .png and resizing and the new software. Here is something I probably will be using...
If anybody does make a teeshirt out of the first graphic, I'd very much like to get one. Good design, James, nicely done.

My buddy just got the new E.A.A. Sport Avaition mag, it has a good write up on the lil wing autogyros, very nice machines, would love to hear that round engine on it fly over, it has to be sweet.

The round engine is very nice but it comes with the price to match it's sound. As much as I like it - it will probably have to be enough to just have something that looks good and is not loud. I don't think the other 2 guys want to go radial engine because of the price and origin. Hope to see what they published.
Would you settle for seeing three of them flying overhead? lol jtm

I have been told the Rotec Radial does not have the typical radial engine sound. Haven't heard one in person yet to confirm. Sure looks good though. Little Wings autgyros are Sweet!

My email address is
I have a Vinyl Sign and Graphics company as a hobby business and as a result of the equipment that I have I can print heat transfer graphics for iron on. The only thing I ask is that the graphic that is sent to me be of the highest quality possible. Best results are from graphics that equal approximately 10megs/sq/ft.

Hi Walker... your email address is.....????
I can get you a decent quality graphic. It is nice to hear that you want detail and quality. I usually have to downsize stuff so small it just doesn't seem right (lol) jtm

That's weird. I used the "Insert email address" function and put in my email address. I wonder where it went.
Here's my address: walker@mindless.com. Instead of just clicking on it like a link, you'll have to remember it long enough to use it in you email program.

PS. NOW IT SHOWS UP AS A LINK???!!! GO FIGURE!

thanks Walker. I knew you were there .... somewhere...... I will try to get the Graphic off the other computer full sized and send it to you. I guess what I am trying to find out is how good / permanent a tee shirt transfer can be. I bought some stuff from Office max and Staples. I know it didn't help at all we washed it in our hot water and threw it in the dryer.... I didn't know she was going to do that.... anyway in one wash it was dead.... jtm

Okay, I think the jersy's are going to be ok. I am going to make a few and bring some down to Florida. The one I printed is shown in Post # 18
They are full color graphics as shown above and are on two tone material which basically means either white center and blue sleeves or Dark blue sleeves and medium blue center. They are stain resistant and are nice shirts. I am buying them at Walmart so these aren't 2.00 shirts being sold for 20.00. I tried to make them as nice as I can and think it is a good value.
Last year I paid that much for a 3 color print at Mentone with a LW on it and two other aircraft. These are much nicer and take a bit to make. If anyone is interested let me know I will try to make some beyond the one I am bringing down for Ron. I have 2 days to get these done ( if there is any interest.) We will be there most likely Wed, Thurs and most of Sat. We, my two kids and I - will be camping out of a little green station wagon from Michigan.
Color choices depend on what they have available at Walmart. I do the best I can..... If you want me to make one - let me know..... If not that is okay too but I am able to do some if there is interest.....

That would've been a good design for the forum t-shirts. Instead of the large "Lil Wing" above the gyro it could say "Rotary Forum" or something similar. Can you whip out something like that James?
mcbirdman
03-29-2005, 04:53 PM
Hi Tim,
I don't think it would be the same. I may be able to design something up eye catching from photos I take in the future but most likely it will be a series of limited tee shirts based on the LW's, mainly because of my interest and ability to place them in unique positions or locations..... groups, scenic etc.....
On this design you will notice I used the wheel to spell out Autogyro Inc. If I took out or changed the Little Wing top - what would be the point of the Autogyro.Inc. The other problem also is about Record holder on the bottom........ Also, I know it is small but it says alttitude, trancontinental, endurance in the arc around the world.....
Pretty much is built around the LW.
Given more time I might be able to have incorporated another idea that might come out regarding the forum that would be a strong message.
I just thought the interest in LW and it's positive influence it is having on GA circles might be something of interest. I made the shirts for me but have been asked to make a few.... I couldn't get full color graphics to be as durable as I wanted and when I could - it was VERY expensive. These shirts should not go in a dryer and should be washed inside out but they have been holding up ok, they are not ink jet shirts..... and they seem to be as durable as the one I bought in Mentone last year. And these look much better in all aspects. Especially the full color photograph ! So if anyone is interested .... now is the time to speak up. Otherwise.... I did ask....... take care, see you all down there. I am looking forward to it.... jtm
