I'm trying to find a gyro instructor in the Atlanta, GA area. As I understand Steve McGowan was the man for this, but has relocated to Arizona recently.

Can anyone point me to other people or resources for gyro training in/around Atlanta?

Thanks in advance,
Iven

Dan Leslie in Macon. Maxie Wildes in Ricon Georgia. Both offer ultralight gyro training - not Faa loggable towards a private rating.

Rusty Nance in Aiken South Carolina. And Gary Neal in Near spartenburg South Carolina. Both offer FAA approved training with time logged counting towards a private rating.

Rusty, probably isn't available since he informed the PRA Board that he wouldn't be able to serve if elected because his military unit was going on active duty.

I think Rick Ambercrombie just got his gyro CFI. He lives in Atlanta, well one of the many suburbs.

Check with Scott Essex on his status, he doesn't visit the forum.

Yes Rick does have his CFI gyro, but no 2 seater right now.

I have ~40 hours in fixed wing aircraft, no pilots license. I would like to find someone who could take me up for a few instructional flights in a gyro to see if it appeals to me. I've been designing & building radio control model gyros for many years now, and have always been fascinated by them.

Thanks for your responses, I'll try contacting some of the people mentioned above. Does anyone know which of these people has a two-seater?

Thanks

All the guys I mentioned are currently flying and offering instruction. they all have two place machines. Rates for a intro ride are about the same across the board.
