I will have an Air Command head for sale. Looks to be in good order but I do not know the history behind it, I bought a new bearing and bolts for it but have not rebuilt it as of yet.

Like Jan I am looking at Rotorheads.

We are building a Hornet ultralight (hopefully), have managed to get the weights of DW rotors
45lbs – 24ft
43lbs – 23ft
39lbs – 22ft

But still haven't managed to get the weights or rotor heads. Looking at possibly Black Beautys or perhaps Ernie's for the DWs.

Anybody with those weights would be most grateful for that.

Still haven't heard back from Tom on the weight for the Wunderlicht setup to prerotate, or from George on his Goped setup. If anybody has estimates for those that would be a great help to us.

Appreciate that both depend on dimensions and engine placement but ballpark figures are welcome.

The weight for the electrical system being developed in Germany is around 20lbs with battery. Also found that the split/foldable mast might not take the torque.

weight for Ralph Taggarts model airplane motor prerotator is 2.5 lbs and no adverse torque on the mast.

I have also found the undersling holes in the dragon wing hub bar center block do not allow for much teeter action with the Neal Carnes rotorhawk head. This is something I would check out on the Blackbeauty head. I don't see why one wouldn't be better off just going with the RFD head with the Dragon wings.

My RFD head complete with prerotator ring, rotor stop and cross bar weighs 12.75 lbs.

Thanks John.

I was wondering if you knew what the differences were between the BB and the RFD head?

It would seem that the RFD is the head the DW's would have been designed to work with.

"My RFD head complete with prerotator ring, rotor stop and cross bar weighs 12.75 lbs."

Thanks for the weight info. When you say rotor stop do you mean rotor brake? And the cross bar, would that be the rotor hub bar or would that have been included in the rotor weights we got from RFD?

Black beauty from Starbee or the Dominator head from Rotor Flight Dynamics.

If you're flying DragonWing rotors...you should stick with the rotor head mae by the same guy!
