Here are some pics of as the title says.
1st one is called: "Where'd that flat rock go?"
2nd is "There it is." I did a quick stop and go on it just to keep my skills sharp. Notice the path leading up to it. There's nothing around there. I'm guessing it may be an old Indian ceremonial or camping area. There are a lot of remote spots in the mountains where the Indians came in the heat of summer. You often find indentations in the rocks where they used to grind meal. I forget....maybe pine nuts and acorns too.
3rd is: "Over the ridge."
4th is: "Road goes the wrong way...I'm going straight." The low spot ahead in the center of the photo and on the horizon is where Fernwood lies. Actually it's in the first pic too, about an inch left of the yaw string on the far horizon.....the red string, in case you don't see it. ;)
5th is: The suburbs of Fernwood, CA."
6th is: "Downtown Fernwood."
7th is: Out of order. It's "The path to Fernwood." Fernwood lies just past the small peak that's lined up with the path. Who the heck would ever take that path and to where....I don't know. It's not that high there to get snow in the winter, so it wouldn't just be a water run-off. We don't get enough rain for that either. You can see that it doen't follow the lowest terrain. Probably an old Indian path also.
Fernwood is a small mountain community basically in the center of nowhere on the east side of Mt. Woodson.
