Here's the aux tank in position on the Ultrawhite. Its placed in on the tray I've made to hold it but isn't secured or plumbed in, Its just placed there to check for fit. I was hoping to fit it on Saturday but the weather was too good and went flying instead.

Thanks Todd!
I wouldn't mind a Yamaha sitting on top of that tank, Then we would be eating sky!

Connected and tightened everything up yesterday, did a fuel flow check and some test runs, then went flying, got 1 hr and 40 mins out of the tank(s) and had a half hour reserve.
Now a very lightweight carbon fibre pod to up the cruise speed...

Pulled the 503 on Monday. I knew that if I didn't remove the engine I would just keep flying and not put on the 582. All was going well but when I went to put the B type gearbox on the 582 I found the bearing in the box at the prop hub end to be a bit rough so I've ordered one and an oil seal from the UK and they should be here on Friday or Monday. So hopefully Ill have it running and flying by mid next week.
That is, as long as my Wife doesn't go into Labour, She's expecting our first child...!

Hmm, then where do you attach the child-seat?
Or are you planning on one of those strap on kanguroo bags?
Kai.

Put the 582 on this afternoon, just the wiring and the plumbing to do, and fit the gearbox as soon as the new bearing for it arrives.
Heres a few photos of Derek trying to start the Wot when the engine is not too hot or not too cold and one of him heading off for more test flying on the new Walter micron engine.

More pics of the 582 installation. Im using a filler cap from a Kawasaki GPZ750R for the expansion/ Filler tank. I'd to remove the thermostat get threaded fitting made for the pipe to the cylinder head. and get a0.9 bar cap. cheaper than the 140 dollar rotax item
