Gents,

check out this article. The info in the article is, IMHO, largely bogus; and the guy says diddly about gyros. BUT there is an excellent Dave Higdon photo of Darren and his son Austin inflight in Darren's sharp Magni gyro.

There's a difference between 30 registered rotorcraft and how many actually flew.

I counted four gyros flying and maybe a dozen helicopters flying in the Ultralight/ Rotorcraft area at Oshkosh .

IMHO, Darren Twellman deserves congratulations for being a recipient of the KEN BROCK OUTSTANDING WORKMANSHIP award with his Magni Gyro Plane - N873MG. He was one of the four gyro pilots, along with Greg Gremminger, Larry Neal, and Carl Schneider.

Interesting how they mention the cost for helicopters being higher than FW, but don't mention that gyroplanes are usually built for much less than FW.
