Shawn,
We have a number of subscribers to Homebuilt Rotorcraft magazine in New Mexico, five of which live in Albuquerque, two of which have gyros.
When I lived there we had a local club and three of the current subscribers were members. There is another friend in Silver City who is from Las Vegas, NV. He has a Dominator style gyro.
If you want their names and addresses call or email me. My phone number is (918) 823-4610 and my email address is rfi@oklatel.net

Don I sent you an email or at least i thought I did. I would be glad to get the names and addresses you mentioned and I will send the an invite by hard copy/US mail. You can send them to at my e-maill address srowland@scpglobal.com
I haven't had any negative replys on the date or place. So I think we can set the date 17 Jan 04 at Gardunos Winrock in stone.
Off of Norms forum we have current total of 7 people showing up. Do we have more?

Shawn why not meet at a AIRPORT??? Maybe Tom C. will bring his Dominator and show you some gyro flying, maybe the wind will be blowing too, knock out two birds with one stone! ;D

Ron, that would be great if there was a small airport to use in ALbuquerque area . They have shut down the ones that I knew about. A lot of pilots have moved thier planes to Belen 30min away or to Moraity 1hr away.
Tom said he has his torn apart for winter maintenence. Since this is our first meeting, I selected the resturaunt as a covenient location, central for most people. Tom is 2-2.5 hours west, Manfred and Lilo are 1.5 hrs north. ME and Bob 1 hr east and one guy I forget his name said he was from T or C about 3 hrs to the south. I don't know if any of us has ever met any of the others I am just mentioned. Once we meet this time we can find a place (airport or where ever) for future meets
Since there are so few gyro people here I thought this would be a great first step in building a club here. Nothing like good NEW MEXICAN stryle cusuine and a few margaritas to start off some good friendships. If you haven't ever eaten New Mexican style mexican food you don't know what you are missing. There is nothing else in the world that will compare. My mouth is watering for a beef sofapilla covered in green chile just thinking about it. ::)

Dave, Glad to hear of another NM gyronut. The "HomebuiltRotorcraft" magazine is not the same as the one the PRA puts out. I have not subscribed to this magazine (will shortly) so I can't comment on it.
As to having another Gyro meet? Not sure when, but I am thinking of trying again say in march or april. This time at an airport, a little more logistics involved. Stay tuned for further updates.
