Hi

Im new to the forum, and an ameture when it comes to any aircraft.but want to learn...
I bought the furia helicopter plans and am eager to start building.
I believe, to fly in South Africa you have to have a ppl licence, even to fly an ultralight.

Thats why I wonder if you can make it a bit more powerful, increasing lift and ovrall payload.

Does anyone have any sugestions regarding rotorblade construction changes and maybe a more powerfull engine, and then do I have to change the centre of gravity too...??etc...

Any info would be much appreciated

Thanks.

Welcome Theuns to the forum and more fun than should be legal!!

I'm just learning rotorcraft so I can be of much help. Except for the choice of engines, like Stan we love turbines . They use more fuel, but you won't be under powered!!!

There are some really smart EXPERTS here! The pros will soon respond with facts. Give it a few days (3 day holiday here in the states) to collect more advice.

Glad to have you join us also check out PRA.org lots of information and maybe join us as a PRA member too, that would be great!

Hi John.

Thanks for the warm welcome. I really look foreward to the whole process of learning, and building my heli. It's quite exciting.

I like the idea of a turbine engine.More power!! Sounds good.

Have you got any experience with turbines, because I think I'm going to use turbine.

I want to build a small, but performance helicopter.

Good luck with your project.

Till later

TC.

Yo TC!

I have only flown two aircraft with turbines both FW.

Stan is building a Helicycle and it has a turbine.

I love turbines except the fuel burn?

Stan's got me all excited about them again just talking about them and watching his build.

That's what I would do also TC!!!
Keeps us informed as you discover which heli you are going to build.

Way fun!!!
