Rotax tacho

Guys,
I've purchased an old air command and ever since i've had it the tacho wasnt working properly, i cant get it to read correctly i think its only reading half or pretty close to it, was just wanting to know the correct wiring diagram to get it reading properly as i'm going to change props and want to make sure of my rpms. :)

what tach are you using? I use a tiny tach

Could be a problem with one of your coils. I can't remember if the tach uses the pickup off the lighting or charging coil. My tach didn't work and I had to replace one of the coils to get it working.

Dont know what you call a tiny tach, its a geniune rotax tacho its about 1 1/2" in dia on the face and it just has two round pins out the back, just that i'm not that up to date with that kind of stuff, at the moment it is hooked up to a couple of lighting wires( i think), when i brought it i get no instructions on it,so not sure how it should be hooked up.thanks
