Hi all, I've decided to sell my Gyrobee project, I have it sitting on it's gear with most of the materials for completion through Phase 9 included. I'll be working on fabricating parts until I sell it, just to keep me busy. I have not decided what I want for it yet; but trust me it will be priced to sell!! I'll be putting it on Ebay when I get more photos taken of it.

I'd prefer to sell it to someone whom is a member of the forum, I know they will treat my baby with TLC.

If interested please email me.

Thank you,
Kandace

Hi Kadance. I've been following your posts with enthusiasm. At the risk of seeming nosey, may I ask why you're selling it? I was very much hoping to see you complete and fly it.

Thanks,
Brian Jackson

Hmmm, sorry to hear this Kandace! Forgive us for perhaps seeming nosey, but you were fast becoming one of the family, so naturally we are curious as to why.

She's going over to the dark side........of helicopters that is. R-22s to be exact. So she'll still be a rotorcraft member.

Kandace keep up informed of how your training goes.

Hmmm, Tie Fighters were easilly defeated by intelligence to the rebel forces from Death Star defectors. However, in the interest of safety, might I recommend an alliance? :)

Hi again, I'm selling for the simple reason, that I need the money to pursue my Heli dreams. I cannot afford to do both, and I really enjoy the challenge of helicopter flying.

I hope to eventually get my medical certification situation sorted out and when I do I want to get my Commercial Heli certificate as well as CFI. I've wanted to fly helis for as long as I can remember and as one of out honorable posters says, "I don't want to be 75 and wishing I'd done that"

I used to fly R/C helis because everyone said they were "impossible" to fly. they aren't! Difficult yes impossible no. Oh and I love that rotor blade noise!

Kandace,

I have been folowing your posts as well. Shame about the gyrobee.. but good luck with your helicopter dream. I also fly radio controlled helicopters (and planes, and cars.. well drive the cars.. not fly them) and yes.. that is some fun stuff. Could only imagine flying a full scale one!

Wondering, do you have a rotor head? i want to build my gyrobee from scratch (and want to machine my own rotor head as well) however if you were selling a head i may be willing to cut a deal with you.

I dont konw if you have one.. or were only working on the frame.

I am sure you will find a buyer for your gyrobee.. seems to me they are becoming more popular every day!

good luck with the copter again

Kandace,
Glad to hear you're following your passion. I used to want to build a heli real bad, finally had to face that it's just beyond my means.

Good luck and keep posting with your heli progress. ;)

Hi all, Thank you for the thoughts, I appreciate it very much.

I just wanted to give an update on the Gyrobee sale. I went through all of the reciepts to see what to ask for it and discovered someone is going to get a great deal.

My cash outlay so far is $1069.73, I put in on Ebay for $599.99, buy it now. If anyone from the forum here wants it, I'll negotiate with the shipping charges.

thanks again for all of the kindness I've received so far here on Rotary Forum.

Good luck on the helicopter flying, they are great to fly,I am a student chopper pilot my self, I have several hours in the Hughes TH-55 trainer ( aka military version of the 269-A) and some in the B model Hughes that is a bit heavyer.

that R-22 is a hand full, they say if you can fly it, you can handle about any of them, I just never liked the way they have that T handle stick.
wait untill you get into some power on autos,I have done a few in the Hughes, and it is amazing just how fast it drops out of the sky..lol

if you get some pics, post some of you with the Robbie.

fly safe.

Kandace,

Don't do it!!!! It is a Virus of the worst sort!!!! Once infected, you are done for. Friends will start to avoid you because that is all you can think about or talk about. You will dream about flying them. If you go too long with out a "fix" you get withdrawal of the most painful sort. You will find new wrinkles in your face from grinning so much. You will find the imprint of the cyclic in your hand from concentrating and trying so hard. You may even find damage to the seat cushion from excess pucker factor during those moments of "stark terror". Save yourself from a life of poverty and passion and avoid helos at all costs.

Dennis

p.s. One of these days the flight surgeon will tell me "you, you with the high blood pressure or bad eyes or no hearing or etc. etc. NO PHYSICAL!!!" Then I'll have to quit flying them and go get a real job! God forbid.

Welcome Dennis...Helopilot:

Those many years in the Military and those thousands of hours in Rotorcraft make for a hearty welcome to this forum.

Are you a beer drinker? :D

Cheers :)

Harry,

I'm surprised at you, asking ex-Army helicopter pilot if he indulges in the nectar of the gods. On social occaisions only, of course. And I'm sure never to excess.
Twenty years in Army Aviation and sixteen in the Gulf of Mexico in the oil patch. Learn something new every time I fly and everytime I read this forum. Some of the questions the new folks ask here make me go back and read and review some of the "knowledge"and attitudes that I have. Sometimes with humbling results. Plan to build a Dominator when I retire from the oil patch. Have to scratch the flying itch.
