At Homers flyin last week, I was watching a group of Helicycles all spool up and take off for a cross country flight...where they all landed right next to a restaurant. That had to be something to watch at the restaurant as these all came in and landed.
As Arnie mentioned...they are smooth and quiet...Right at the end of this clip you can see the shadow of one of the Helicycles doing over 100 mph. One guy commented that he was trying to keep up with the other Helicycles that were going 110 mph. His rotor rpm was at the bottom of the green indicating some belt slippage. He had to lag behind at at around 100 mph. But when he came back...he just easily retensioned his belts. He normally wouldnt have had to have done this..but he wanted max performance next flight so he could keep up with the Heli-pac!
