Wow 132 views with no response. So I will try a new question. Who makes a 60" prop for a 582 with a B box?
Thank You
Scott

3 of the most popular are Warp Drive, IVO Prop, and Powerfin.
I couldn't really say which one is best.
Warp drives are heavy but very tough, Powerfins are very light but not so tough.
I'd say IVO Prop might be a good middle ground.
As for which will get you the most thrust, I don't know about that.

RFD likes warp drives because they have experienced they are tough like taking an errant bolt or nut with little damage. I like Powerfins but don't like IVO's because I have seen a lot of hairline surface cracks on them around the hub but they were still flying fine.
How about a little project at the next Bensen days or other flyins. Maybe some guys can take the same size prop ie 60 inch which is common and try it on the same gyro and check for time to climb and flat out speed and post the results.

G'Day Scott,
Happy Birthday for last week. Ahh to be 10 years younger.
Mate for some reason I thought you were the new owner of a Monarch and fielding some questions for comparisons.
The Monarch runs a two blade 60" X 46 pitch wood prop from Tennessee Props on a 582 with B box 2:58 as std.
Light, easy on the box, well suited to the performance of the craft. Inexpensive. Readily available in the US. Prompt delivery.
Cheers,
Mitch

Mitch,
Does that prop allow you to run the engine up without redlining?
You dont find many prop manuf. recommending that short of a prop in two blade for a 582.
Scott,
Take some thrust test and see what you have, your are welcome to try my Warp Drive, and we have an Ivo in the shop. Guy was running a 60 in three blade on his 503 with no problems.
also , are you wanting a two blade or more?

G'Day Mark,
On the 503 correct, no redlining.
Mate with the 60" X 40 pitch Tennessee wood prop on 2:58 B Box 503 all I ever saw was 6,600 in the air and I think from memory during engine run in @ static I was only seeing about 6,450 approx. Last 503 flights with 610 lbs of AUW on 23 1/2 footers I was 6400 rpms at WOT.
I cannot vouch for what the 582 married prop as I am about two weeks away from finally morphing and emerging as a Monarch. This is the prop that Larry puts out as std fare on the Monarch. 60 X 46 Tennessee 2 Blade Wood Prop. I dont believe Larry would put a prop on his production Monarchs that allowed someone like myself to redline the engine. If the rest of life doesnt interfere to much I'll be back in the air directly. (translates..two weeks to within a month), I'll give you some static engine run up numbers in a week or so.
Cheers,
Mitch.

Hey Mitch,
I do have the Tennessee prop. I was just wonder who else made a 60" prop and the pros and cons of each.
Hey Mark,
It probably would have to be a 3 or more blade. I will try the Tennessee prop out first.
Thanks for the replies.
