Thomas Fernandez flew the pattern for the first time ever today. His flying was smooth and flawless and his landings were perfect.
He flew the complete pattern not only once but four times, I was so impressed with him and his Gyrobee. GREAT JOB THOMAS!

Todd, you must be feeling the effects of 'empty nest syndrome' now that Thomas has taken to the air. Please wish him all the best from the Denver group. When he is comfortable, perhaps you two can plan a flight up to FTG for lunch & make a day of it. We will have fuel for you if you give us a heads up. :yo:

Hey Mark, It is an exciting time at our airport, All gyro's there are flying, The fixed wings cannot claim that. We have a friend who wants to sell his fixed wing and get a gyro at our airport as well, he likes the Dominator and I told him that would be a good choice for him, so we will see. As far as flying up to your airport Thomas and I both lack two things, a safe amount of fuel for that long of a flight and a transponder. Regardless we do need to get together sometime soon though.

Todd, that being the case, perhaps I can talk Dick into making the pilgrimage down there....we'll see.

Many thanks to all for the kudos and especially to Todd for his encouragement and concern. After 2 years of building and countless hours of taxi practice and gradually longer/higher crow hops, it is fantastic to finally be able to fly the pattern. As Rick said "a feeling you will never forget". However, with our current early morning DA already at 7000' - 8000' everything happens so much faster, so its been a real challenge.
Cheers Thomas
