Chapter 1 meeting notice, Sat. July, 12,'08

Hello everyone, Chapter 1 will have the next meeting this coming Saturday , July, 12, at 11 AM at Teddy's hangar on Moe's place adjacent the El Mirage dry lake, ( west side).
We will be discussing fly-in plans and looking for helpers as well as asking for suggestions for the fly-in .
At the meeting Teddy plans to have a TV set up so he can show a video or two of gyro flying and I might even be tempted to say a few words about how wonderful it is to be flying again- as if the smile on my face doesn't say it all. My new Rotordyne blades will go on the gyro before the next flight and I'm excited about that!
Teddy took pictures as I was flying this Saturday and he complained that I didn't land in front of the camera...my response was that my landings are not ' camera ready'. The landings were not all that bad , but I didn't have to look down to see if my wheels were on the ground to know if I had landed as used to be the norm. But as Vance might say, ' after my landings, I was able to use the aircraft again'.

Hi Marion,

Thanks for the update on the next Chapter 1 meeting.

Unfortunately, I'm already committed to the Salute to Heros at Hansen Dam Recreation Area near Whiteman Airport this Saturday. This is a gathering of Military, Fire, EMS, and Media helicopters.

Here's an idea for the future. Would you like for an Army Blackhawk at El Mirage during the Freedom Fly-In in September? No promises, however I can see if I can get one or two to vist for a few hours. There's an Army Reserve Aviation unit near by at the old George AFB and I will be flying with them next month to Fort Irwin (lovely time of year in the desert, August).

I'll be driving out to the Freedom Fly-In so I can stay for the evening BBQ. I'll definitely be looking for you and talking about flying and gyros.

I've submitted the request for the Blackhawk through channels ... we'll see what happenes, again no promises.
