When I'm climbing out and keep the gyro in trim with the trim string or ball I need a bit of left pedal, when release all pedal pressure the Gyro goes up an extra 100-150fpm. when I'm in the cruise and release all pressure on the pedals it seems more efficient too. Is this normal, maybe my balance ball is out of whack? Any ideas? maybe I should throw away the trim ball..

Paddy,
What's what your string telling you? Sounds like your ball has you crabbing. You can adjust anti servo tab to level the pedals. You should be able to fly with your feet off for as long as you want.

Yep Mike, The Gyro flys fine feet off with the right pedal slightly forward. in fact it flys pretty much hand and feet off! (with a very slight roll left)I took the trim string off but ill stick it on again and fly it tomorrow

A "ball" is a very poor indication of flight coordination in a gyro. It is too dependent on throttle settings. To set up a ball correctly you must use a string and even then it is only accurate for that weight and throttle setting. You might just as well only use the string, which is 100% accurate all the time.
