Don't want to burst your bubble man, but some of them Mormons have weapons and tactics of their own. And they band together in groups called Wards. It might be a better idea to pick a smaller and more isolated target or even better yet, just get better prepared yourself.

I have found that being prepared for many of the emergencies that could happen to me, helps me to sleep a lot more peacefully at night. It's like having a little money tucked away for emergencies, just a good idea.

Growing my own crop (bio fuel) Just need a decent diesel to use it, otherwise it just fuels the heating system. The ethanol version takes too long, gets drunk and me too, not to mention the customs and revenue guys wanting to get in on the act!

How timely your post. I thought one or two would likely shrug you off but interestingly as I walked about 'O penedo casa' in the early hours of the morning not being able to sleep, i turned on the TV and what was on GMA.
Well blow me down with a feather! Barbara Walters in the drivers seat and a story peice on the new suburban market garden. People turning their front lawns into vegetable gardens AND WHY BLOODY NOT.!

With the price of oil and big business owning all the other resources a vege garden, home storage supplies, tank water, these are some of the things we can do to as Doug says, sleep a little easier and stay a lot healthier. I'd rather eat a fresh apple off of my tree than one thats 8 months old anyday!

No worries mate! Just bring your guns with you. The Fly In location is out in the middle of no where with open space all around us so we could even shoot them a little while your here. Now I realize that you can't bring the whole garage with you and I understand a man's garage is his castle but you just need to get your priorities straight. Being a youngster you must not remember the WWII days when some people DID plow up their front yards and plant veggies. But, most used their backyards, being the "old fart" that I am, I was stuck pulling weeds and such when I was a kid back then. We only had one car in the family and Dad took it to work, he was over age and the draft wouldn't take him, anyway he drove the hell out of it as a traveling salesman. When the war was over that 1935 Plymouth had 200,000+ on it. The same flat top six, no rebuild, just gas, oil, and filters every 1,000 to 1,500 miles and a tune up every fall, which included a valve job. Those bias tires only lasted 18 to 20,000 miles.

The OPA rationed everything except home grown things including gas and as his job was not war related our family used honey in place of sugar and did a lot of hunting and fishing for meat. Then traded our sugar and meat ration stamps for gas coupons. But, each car had a ration sticker on it and gas stations were not allowed to sell extra gas to cars with a limited sticker. The OPA had under cover checkers; So, you needed a "friend" in a gas station and here is where the honey came in again. Dad would bring a gallon of honey and a box of fresh apples to our next door neighbor who operated a gas station almost every month. He also generally had an extra bunch of venison each fall for him.

Anyway, life was good. The family was strong, we went to family dinners, played baseball in a church league, and waited for our family members to come home, but three are still in France with white crosses.

BTW I went to England many time during my enlistment with the Air Force and all during that time, from before 1980 to after 1986 they still had ration cards for us in the military. At that time it allowed us tax free, Booze, Gas, and cigarettes.
Just to give you an idea, in 1985, a carton of cigarettes tax free was $3.29, and a liter of gin or vodka (like Smirnoff or Beefeater or a similar quality) was $1.75.

I was in Battlebots 5 in California. I needed one more win to make it onto TV. IIRC About 750 Bots started the competition and I think 16 made it on the show. Another 16 of those were allowed in without having to fight any preliminary bouts because they were on before. I also competed in Robolympics, several Robot club competitions, and a couple DARC tournaments.
