Hello everyone.
My name is Brian Jackson and I recently joined this forum as a GyroBee builder.

As some of you have seen in the GyroBee discussion area, I do a very unique type of 3D aerial (and ground) photography that's perfectly geared for web display. Examples are here (http://www.rotopix.com). Click on the "Gallery" button.

Since I live only 90 minutes drive from Mentone (Niles, Michigan) and plan to attend, why not at least ask. I'd love the opportunity to produce 3D Virtual Reality scenes for PRA's new site. These can be done both from the air and ground-level. I'd like to encompass both styles for a very comprehensive virtual tour.

I have the equipment, talent and desire to pull this off. Imagine letting web visitors actually sit in your gyro and look around. It's the ultimate "money shot" that sells Gyroplanes.

I anticipate there will be multitudes in attendance. Let's hope so. I'm looking forward to meeting and collaborating with many on this board. Also, the entirety of my work there will be free, both for PRA and pilots. The goal is to showcase our sport.

What I will need help with is the airborne shots. If someone attending is willing to take me up for approx. 15 minutes in a 2-place, problem solved. My VR Rig only weighs about 9 pounds, and I'm a mere 149. Let's find a way to make this happen. The finished tour will be well worth the price of admission. :)

Thanks,
Brian Jackson

Brian,

I know you're new here. I just need to clarify your intentions. You posted a link at the start of this thread containing a link to the ACLU. Are you an advocate of this organization? Or was this just a bad joke?

ACLU? I wasn't aware of any link to that organization. Besides our RotoPix site, the only links I posted were a couple of "wacky" sites like TimeCube and Zombo. Sorry if the links directed you to someplace else... I'm not an advocate. Just a humble photographer with a passion for flying.

Regards,
Brian Jackson

Since I am too far away from Mentone, I look forward to any visuals you put together.

Glad to hear that, Brian. :) Yes, it was that Zombo site that took me there.

Ron,

Yep - American Civil Liberties Union. They traditionally stood up for anyone whose liberties were threatened by government, often working pro bono. The last 20 years or so, they seem to focus more on cases which challenge religious tradition.

oh okay. but Wing Nuts post, it seemed that this ACLU was a bad thing. Now it sounds like it isn't such a bad thing afterall.

Well stated, Paul.

It's a matter of opinion, Ron. Most liberals probably think it's a good organization. The ACLU is promoting same sex marriages, as an example of what they stand for.

Ron, at the risk of hijacking this thread...

ACLU is getting a bad connotation lately, not so much for the things they do, but for the things they don't. They're all over anti-traditional causes like attacking Boy Scouts of America, challenging city seals if they have a little cross or other religious symbol on them, pulling "under God" from the pledge, etc.

On the other hand, if the government tells you your 5-acre retirement home lot, purchased in 1978, is now deemed a greenspace, and unbuildable and worthless to you as a result, they're not interested in helping. A recent exception to their seemingly liberal mission was intervening in the Rush Limbaugh case, arguing that his medical records should remain private.

There's a new organization called the ACRU, American Civil Rights Union, which is trying to pick up defense of that other half of our liberties which no longer interest the ACLU. ACRU is headed by former US Attorney General Ed Meese, and their most noteworthy project to date is defense of the Boy Scouts of America, often against the ACLU.
