Hello to All!
I was told I need to introduce myself properly by way of the welcome mat. So here I am OFFICALLY introducing myself...
I am new to the RW Forum. My name is Edna (just call me Ed) I am 43 years old a single Mom of two wonderful Kids, Savannah who’s 22 and Ryan who’s 23.
I have been around Motorcycles my whole life all four of my brothers road, but back in 1993 I met a rather unique individual who has been inspiration in my life since that time! He introduced me to Harleys and not just any kind, a streamlined motorcycle. He also taught me to ride actually his exact words were if your going to hang out with me you’re going to have to learn to ride these things. Well he’s an Ex-Road Racer so I learn to ride from the best. (The going too fast is something I learned from him too!)
I then became a part of his Racing Team for the HD Streamlined Motorcycle. I packed his parachutes, packed lunches and everything thing else in between. It was quite an experience one I will never forget.

Now here he is again he is introducing me to something “new” again and I didn’t think life could be as exciting as it had when I first learned to ride a Harley. He has introduced me to Gyroplanes, a Predator to be exact. Let me tell you I haven’t rode in it yet, but I did sit in it and it made my heart race just thinking about being up in the sky in this incredible mechanical wonder! He has opened my world to some amazing things, but this is going to be hard for even him to top~ Thanks Again Vance Breese!

Then if that wasn’t enough to get me excited he took me to meet Marion Springer Author of Born Free this weekend at El Mirage. I’ve been reading her book and felt so much of a connection with her. To be able to meet her was a delight! Marion is such an incredible person but not at all intimidating. She doesn’t confuse you with a bunch of technical stuff in her book. She keeps it simple and her special warmth comes across. So now meeting her and reading the book means so much more. I also had the opportunity to meet her enchanting daughter Linda. I spoke to Linda about her Mother at some length and appreciated even more this woman Marion Springer and her contribution to the “Rotary World”.
So again I hear these words from Vance if you’re going to hang out with me your going to have to learn how to fly this thing. Yee Haw!! I’m all over it! He’s got me addicted AGAIN!!~~~~~~~Ed

Marion I too enjoyed myself at the meeting. I like the gang they are a great crowd to hang out with. I’m excited about joining the Fly In in September. Vance will fly the Gyroplane and I will be bringing up the rear with the trailer and Van Just in case. I expect you will be flying the Gyro at the fly in? As for the Harley…it’s not too late to ride one. ;-) Ed

You know what? You're right! When I was watching Vance fly the predator last week he was attracting quite a crowd and these were not avaitors they were people who were heading the the ballpark to watch a game and spotted the predator. They were wondering what the heck is that thing and how in the world does it stay up there. Same questions I asked myself. But I had Vance the answer man who throughly explained everything. I can't wait for the oppurtunity to fly in it. I've only flown in an airplane a couple of times and I really enjoyed the take offs and landings, very exciting! I'm not a very well travelled person, but I am hoping to change all that very soon! I'm looking forward to exploring the wild blue yonder.

Trust me once you go up in a gyro, your life will never be the same.

I got out and did some work on my gyro today,I have rised my seat up about 4" to get the trust line more to true CLT. also worked on my insterment pod.
I just keep doing a little bit here and there and it just gets closer each day.
I did a spreadsheet on my computer today and totaled up my cost so far and supriseingly I only have $5,030 in it so far, still need main blades and hope to get a body for it somewhere. but at this point I very well may have less then $7,000 it it when done.
Not bad when ya think about it, about the same price as a used Harley.
Lucky for me I still have a Harley and a Gyro project. life is getting better.

Yea it's amazing how much money you can end up spending isn't it. Still it will be worth it in the end. And like you said you have the best of both worlds right? Gyro / Harley- Harley/ Gyro if ya can't ride on you'll always have the other.

As far as finding a partner goes how hard are you looking? You have to take a break from your Gyro at some point and start looking. There are all sorts of beautiful women out there that would love to have such a handsome, talented man on her arm! Take it from me I know these things. Gotta just put yourself out there! Edna, I love my Harley's but I will be honest,when the time comes if I have to sell the Beast to get the rest of my gyro parts and continue my lessons I may end up selling the Bike. just depends how the lawn season goes for me this year,just traded a sporty for a John deere comercail grade mower,getting a few calls,but nothing to write home about yet..lol
I will be posting more pics on my build thread soon.

I will Let Vance know you and Shar said “Hello” he and Diana are heading from training in Buckeye to Florida and then will be touring all the fly Ins after that so I won’t be seeing him for about a month or so, but I will pass on the message.

Happy early Birthday to you too! I share my birthday with my sister. I was born on her fourth birthday and she wanted my mother to send me back where I came from, she wanted a pony instead… figures! LOL…family what are ya gonna do with em?

When and where is Mentone and how long does it last? I’m not sure if Vance has mentioned it or not. I’m looking forward to getting a chance to fly in a Gyro. Maybe I’ll get lucky at the Fly-In at El Mirage in September!

The Weather here in California has been spectacular ~ well where I’m at anyway. Hardly any wind at all and warm, beautiful blue skies. I live in Paradise that’s for sure!

You must pace yourself...slow down. Maybe reduce your caffine intake. By the way most of us special people know after a while Foil stops working so you have to move up to lead. When the voices inside your head gey louder than normal...then you may want to get a brain scan. It may be time to have your little gray "Friends" change out that chip for ya! The annual PRA convention is held at it's own airport in Mentone , IN ..... Usually right around our birthdays. I think I have been there on my birthday already, although I have been many places on that same day!(different years of course)

We've had the pleasure of Vance's company at Bensen Days & last year at Mentone. I would like to make that trip again this year.


Tim, I am still in the process of switching over to my EJ25 engine. I am installing a reciever hitch to the 1982 GMC truck that I just got from Shar's dad.

I threw in some Bosch platinum plugs today.....should run much better...you should have seen the old plugs, it's a wonder it started !

I want to use the truck instead of that old motorhome to go retrieve the 2 place from the airport. But yes the 77 motorhome took us to Mentone last summer with no problems. She is ready to do the same trip...but can I afford the gasoline ?

Oh here are this years dates.....August 5th- 9th....I guess it is after OSHKOSH this year. Ask Vance , he'll tell you about it !

Gary, Styx played here with REO. Grand Illusion was one of the first concerts I went to when I was 16. That was 1980. Twenty some years later they are still playing some of my favorite songs. Ain't it great !

Oh Tim, the part about the airport closing......evidently it is valuable property being right next to Kutztown University. The Greeks that own the Diner also own the airport & the trailer park. Money talks !!!

About the vette...I've never tried to sell it before, but in my current research it seems that the 15K that I would like to get for it, is not that unrealistic.

The interior is out of it but I have installed a complete suspension & brake package on it. Lots of engine work also.

today I will be calling the Mayor's office. I picked up a certified letter at the post office on friday. Here it is a citation for peeling paint on my house...$360....10 days to plead.

If I hadn't picked up the letter what would they have done ?

He issued the violation in November, when was I supposed to paint the outside of the house ....DEC, JAN, FEB,or even March ? Yeah right! Besides , I want the paint removed for that natural brick look !

Tim, I wanted to call but I cut my grass & my neighbors & started a batch of wine(wine kit) & my nephew came in with a friend who is into wine & I sent him home with some stuff to do that I would have never gotten around to .

I realized that in less than 20 day is the chili fiesta fly in I wanted to take my gyro to.

I have the gyro stuck back in a corner of the shop right now, going to pull it back out to the center of the shop and see if I can mount the radiator today.

I have an extra legacy rad. I am going to mount. it was brand new in a parts car I got about a year ago.

Paul Z. showed me how he has a Big rad. mounted on his Subaru powered bensen, and his temp never goes over 180. since these EA-82 like on my gyro are known to crack the head if they over heat, then my therory is the bigger the rad. the better.

I rode my harley to buckeye lake, Ohio more than a few years back to see the Dead & then continued on to The Indy track & then saw the Dead again on my birthday at DEER LAKE ampitheater in INDiana. And my right knee was really messed up that summer. I had a real girl with me ,too ! I saw the Dead a whole lot of times.

I didn't even crash the bike.....not even once !

I'll never forget my friend at the Styx concert we were drinking wine in the back of the van we went in......he was puking the whole show, right behind the heads of the people in front of us ! I just acted like I did not know him !

Hey Tom, I saw you were busy all day Saturday at B.D., wanted to introduce myself and chat a while, will get a chance next year maybe.

Frank Zappa is my favorite musician/guitarist/ composer. I saw him for my first time in Daytona beach at the Peabody Auditorium. He was doing the "Roxy and elsewere" tour, back in '72 I believe. I left completely in awe and have consumed all of his material ever since.

I play bass in a groovin' lil combo, and we have attempted to cover some of his material, albeit poorly. His guitar technique will never be duplicated, his polyrythmic structures are next to impossible to reproduce.
I sure miss his genius.

I had a ball at Bensen Days, rode down with Earthboundmisfit and my Dad, met a bunch of the forum regulars, GyroRon, Vance; could not locate Scott Essex, I wanted to talk engines with him. Vance was kind enough to share his photo file of his pride and joy, "Predator" with us and we picked up some great ideas for our next build. Renewed old friendships with Bud O'Neal, and Fred Towel and Ora Cook.
Those Wauchula Morons outdid themselves again this year. Thanks Guys and Gals!

Hey you guys...I know who Zappa is, I was kidding ! But to be honest, I don't even have any of his stuff, & it's not like he gets any radio time.

If I was to go out & buy one of his CDs , which one should I get ?

About the paint.....I believe the codes inspecter got sick of me calling about the trash pit in the back yard of the vacant house next to me.

So the prick says to me(pointing to my house) "is that your house" I said yep. He says" looks like you could use some paint" So the next day he sticks a pink violation slip on my door.

So I called him and we talked about painting in the winter(you know what I mean).

Anyway I get a certified letter & like a dummy ,I pick it up(first mistake).

I believe that most people just ignore them & the problem dissappears! After a while they might put out a warrant for you & hope that you get picked up for something.

Not a real good system when we are talking about trash & garbage(health issues)

Oh but a white boy with peeling paint that pays his taxes & owns his house.....we can get him.....heck, I bet he'll even pick up his certified mail !

So I went to the DJ office ,paid my $50, & got a court date. What a bunch of MORONs....No offence to the Wauchula gang!

It'll all work out......Besides, I only want to paint my porch & window trim. The brick I want to strip back to natural. Alot of homes have done this & it looks great.
