I saw the post by Automan 1223 and gave me an Idea.
I would like to hold a welding expo at Bensen Days for those interested. I will be able to go over the welding of 4130. I will go over gas welding and tig welding of this alloy. How to fit parts and to cope properly.
Give me some input and we'll go from there.

Make it the day and time you like. I will bring everything needed but a table. We could find one there I'll bet. If it works out good we could do it a couple of times.

All you need to know is:
Don't touch that sucker after you welded it!!!
Oh yeah, and don't look at the arc with your good eye!

Jake, are you going to have a TIG machine avaiable?
I'd like to learn a few things since I am self taught, at least that way I'd know what I am doing wrong. :)

I will bring a T.I.G. machine and gas welding . I will also bring a few helmets and goggles. If you have your own safty glasses ,welding helmet and torch goggles please bring them . Hey Tim Chick, Your pretty good with the video stuff---Think we could video the welding and present it on a tv so everyone can see whats going on? Be better than a bunch gathering around to see. I have a fillter to video through.

We could try doing something like that. If someone brings a TV we could run a video feed to it. We can also record it for later playback. I'll have a couple cameras with me and I'll also bring a wireless mic and a video switcher.
