About a month ago I picked up set of rotor blades. They were supposed to be Sycamore Blades. The blades are several years old -but they are BRAND NEW and have NEVER been flown.
After getting them back to Phoenix and closely examining them I am of the opinion that htey are not Sycamore Blades. They are composite blades-they have a serial # 0049 on them- the hub bar looks like an RAF Hub Bar --each blade is pitch adjustable and the teeter block is adjustable chordwise much like the Mc Cutchen Hub Bar.

Since I dont have access to an RAF to compare these could someone post a pix of their Hubbar for me to compare--

I only paid $600 for these blades and I plan on using them on my two placer--Any info would be appreciated

Would those be the Blades Peanut had? those are some nice blades,I had looked at them my self but 30' was bigger then I could use. did you find out any more info on them yet?

Yup those are the blades that Peanut had --in fact he is a great supplier of parts for me --I also bought his EJ22 and recieved his RF150/170 fuselage as a door prize!!

The blades are NEW UNUSED RAF blades--not a scratch on them and the hubbar is one of the later generation models --all in all a good buy for $600

Yeah the Price was right for the parts,he is a good man to do Business with I bought the Parham Horz. stab from him,but did not have the money for shipping,so he let me store it there until I could save up the money for shipping.

if those blades had been shorter I would have bought them.

So what kind of 2 place are you going to build? will you be useing that Body on it, should be intresting to see what you come up with.

Yup Im gonna use that body --It will be a dropped keel 2.2 powered machine --the redrive will be the LAST one by RFI (I also have his FIRST Redrive) Kinda Ironic isnt it!

Its still a year or so off --but its getting there. Yesterday I picked up a 4'x4' sheet of .125 6061 T6 to make all of the cluster plates --I have most of the other stuff --just need to find the time to work on it -

-Elk season is in a couple of weeks away and have to get ready for it --gonna see if I can nail another one this year -last year my cut and packed weight was 411# --Im not to sure what it weighed on the hoof--

Mike,
The first elk I ever saw in the wild was up on the rim, while turkey hunting, I was sitting up against a tree with my turkey call, when I heard this incredible sound coming up the hill from me (bugle-ing) scared the hell out of me.
Out of the brush comes the biggest deer I'd ever seen, it was huge, the rack was gigantic, it stopped, got wind of me, went charging off through the brush. I got my wits about me and realized it was a elk. One of the most cherished experience while hunting.

By reading these posts, I would assume that the members here are all
familiar with / or live in, Arizona. I do too. I would be grateful if there
was a chance to meet some of you guys, & shoot the breeze about our
gyros.

Any chance of a "Coffee Clutch", or combine an event already planned, to
do a meeting thing? As a 'newbie', I can use all the help from experienced
flyers that I can get. Also, as one can see from my logo/icon, I don't have
the typical design currently "approved" for flight, so I get a lot of flak over it.
I'd really appreciate it, if I could have some others critique my machine.

So, how about it guys? Is there a place (within AZ) that we could all meet?
I'm not able, due to prior commitments, to attend El Mirage, but I still need
the fellowship of like-minded individuals (only one in my area).

Thanks,

GyroDoug

George,

I'm not in AZ. but there is a growing bunch of very excited Rotorcraft enthusiasts just north of you in UT. While that is quite a ways away to get together for lunch, in the world of Gyroplanes 500 miles or thereabouts is considered local area so I wanted to be the first to invite you to come up and join us next year for our "Rotors Over the Rockies" Event. It will be held on June 10. 11 & 12 in Brigham City, UT (North end of UT.) and we would love to have you come and join us and bring that unique Gyro so we can all get a look at it. Please put those dates on your calendar and work us into your plans so you can come join us. Rotorcraft Events are few and far between so you sure want to take advantage of any that are available. It's too bad you aren't going to be able to make it to El Mirage, as that is always a memorable and unique event. We are taking a carload from UT. to go enjoy the Event. You can learn more about our group and get more current information on events by going to our new website "utahrotorcraft.org". Best of luck!!!!

Mike,

My camera and my new 'puter are not sexually compatible so I can't post a foto of the RAF hub.

If you can post a foto of the hub you have with closeups of the winglets, I could give you my opinion, OK?!

Cheers :)

George,

Like Doug I'm not in AZ, but close. There are now three rotor-heads at the Las Cruces Airport (KLRU). You're welcome here anytime, too.

We can do double hang/balance test, thrust test, etc. if you want to verify your configuration for safety/flyability.

Doug;

Thank you for the very friendly invite to your field. Never ceases to amaze
me how neighborly the folks on these forums can be. Your offer of taking
the time to satisfy MY NEEDS was certainly a major gesture of kindness &
the alterior motive (of promoting safety) makes me even more fond of this
group. I hope the rest of the members can see what you have done.

If I'm ever in your area, I promise that I will not forget to thank you in person
