It was a great time guys. I enjoyed my time with you all. Count me in for the next one at Scott's. You are all welcome down here in the deep South, any time. Just let me know when. However, Scott, you have to bring Mary with you. What a gal! You really did well to get that one, Scott.

Another person who needs mention is Phil Ruffin, He printed the T-shirts, and met Chuck at the house on Thursday because I was at work.
I think we can get Phil's gyro back in the air in a short while,
Phil said he cried when we all took off to chase the hot air balloons, :( Hopefully it won't be too much longer Phil.

Here is a shot of Phil's machine:

I totally agree, Scott. Be patient Phil. It'll be worth all the effort. You'll love that new engine and the CLT. Thanx again Phil for everything. The shirts are great.

Scott,

You stated: You guys crack me up! Mary had fun listening to You guys pick at each other all weekend.

I don't know what you're talking about. We weren't picking at each other! :D

Phil was great and I loved the shirts. I too wept for him as we circled the Ballon and stopped in for a smoke break. I hope he gets Kermit in the air soon.

On another note I would like to mention all of the people that came. If I get a name wrong someone please correct me. I was expecting about thirteen people with and about 10 gyros.

As far as gyros: We had 5 with 4 flying.

This is what I was expecting:

1. Scott Essex + one wife + one son. Modified KB-3
2. John Stevens + one daughter. KB-2
3. Ron Awad + one Friend. Dominator
4. Chuck Irby. Dominator
5. David Holmes. ?
6. Phil Ruffin. Air Command
7. Brent Brown. ?
8. Maxie Wildes. 2 place Air Command
9. Dan Leslie. 2 place Air Command
10. Ray Peirce. GyroBee
11. John Magnan. ?
12. Tim Verroi
13. Bunch of RV-6s

This is what we had over the course of the weekend:

1. Scott Essex + one wife + two son. Modified KB-3
5. John Stevens + one daughter. KB-2
7. Ron Awad + one Friend. Dominator
9. Chuck Irby. Dominator
10. Phil Rufin. Kermit (Air Command not flying)
11. Ray Peirce.
12. Todd Day.
13. Dave DeWinter and his wife
15. Mr. & Mrs. Barnes? (Dominator under construction)
17. "Just Plane" Bob and wife
19. John Magnan
20. MACE (Forum Name) and family.
24. Jim Westin (Zenith CH-1)
25+. A few unknown spectators.

If I let someone out, please forgive me and add them to the list. I should have, but didn't have, a sign-in sheet.

Maxie had Truck problems and couldn't come at all. Last anyone heard from Dan Leslie at 7:00am on Sat. Morning, he was loading up to come, and no one knows what happened. No one was able to contact him later that day and I would like to know if all is ok, and what happened. I think there were some people (certainly my daughter) disappointed that no one made it with a two place gyro, therefore, no rides for anyone. Fortunately, Jenna was well entertained with Mary, a few cats, two dogs, smores, an airplane ride, and best of all two horses.

The Fly-In/Get Together was a big success and everyone to my knowledge had fun. I certainly enjoyed meeting Chuck Irby, Ron's friend James, and everyone that showed. Ron is always a pleasure and I always have a good time with him.

I guess the best thing about the event, was it happened safely with no incidents and everyone had a blast! We all did our fair share of picking on one another. :D

Scott, I had a blast even though my gyro is still down for mods. It won't be long now and I will be flying again so if you hear a whopping sound it might be me. Thanks for the help.

I chased everyone down the runway when you left to see the balloons. It was only a small tear in my eye....... :(

Nice seeing everyone again and Chuck for the first time.

Looking forward to another one.

Later, Phil

PS - Don't have a name for the gyro yet, but I'm pretty sure it's not gonna be Kermit  :D

I really enjoyed meeting and visiting with you too John Boy. One of the highlights of my flying time was when you and I met in the air headed in opposite directions and made several circles chasing each other about 150 to 200 feet apart, just looking at each other through our rotor blades. I wish someone had gotten a video of that.

Phil Ruffin and I spent a lot of time together, and that was most enjoyable. Phil even put me up for the night on Thursday. David Holmes put me up on Wednesday. Scott and Mary put me up on Friday and Saturday nights. Thank you all very much for all that you did to make it the enjoyable time that it was. Ron and I have always had fun together, or at least I have had fun with him. :D :D

Getting to visit again with Ray Pierce and Dave DeWinter was really nice. Meeting and getting to visit with Ron Barnes, Todd Day, Bob Rominger, and John Magnon was really good. Thank you all for showing up. It was great visiting with you all.

Bob, please make a new thread and post some of the pictures you took.
