I have heard from several gyro builders that the 503 likes EGT around 1000 t0 1100 degrees f, but the manual recommends 860-1000, Any opinions regarding the proper EGT for cruise in the Rotax 503?

I usually see 1100-1125 degrees at cruise with my 503 now. The engine is in the shop right now for a rebuild, but the mechanic said there was very little carbon buildup, and the plugs looked good, for 20 plus hours of use on the plugs. He recommended I continue with my current jetting.
Previously, I ran my EGT at 1025 to 1050 degrees at cruise, but kept fouling plugs at 10-15 hours, and saw quite a bit of buildup when I de-carboned the engine over the winter.
Hope this helps.

My EGT runs 850 since I bought the machine last fall. I figured the gauge was a little off since it was so low. I haven't had any problems with plug fouling.
