Guys I'm wondering if some of the accidents we classified and PPOs could have been caused by rotorblade flutter. I don't know if this event is even possible but, I have seen control surfaces flutter at high speed, usually due to imbalance, and rip apart. I was thinking last night that some blades are way out of balance and with them reaching high speeds perhaps they fluttered and caused a blade seperation in some of the discussed accidents and listed as PPO. Does this possibility have any merit?

Id imgaine that if the machine came down coz of flutter, the classice PPO sigens wouldnt be there, like the tail be'n choppeed off...............
recon itd be pretty clear by the state of the wreckage if it was PPO or flutter.

couldn't the tail be chopped off from flutter?

Spose it could, on a HTL machine it definatly would.
But why would it flutter in the first instance?
