I took my old Youtube video of the UAV helicopter that I designed and built and spiffied it up a bit by cutting some boring footage and adding some pictures, specifications and prints.

It shows their very first hovering flights. It was a scary time for me and the pilot, because they fly nothing like a Remote Controlled helicopter, but they fly like a helicopter under remote control. The first flights didn't have the stabilization systems turned on, so it's a little bouncy, but not bad considering it's the pilots first wack at it.

I know someone will complain because there are no loops and rolls, or we didn't hold our mouth just right, or they won't like the color, but this is all I can release.

There is a little sneak preview a the end.

Enjoy.

HUm 8 posts from murphys law so far and every one was an attack on Dennis. as proven by looking at posts by this user in his profile.anyone else see a pattern here. looks like a new trouble maker.

Mike or Todd want to nip this one in the bud before it gets started.

Hi Dennis, Please keep posting your video's....I've enjoyed everyone. Don't let a few detractors stop the fun.

Animal I agree if Murph has nothing to add but that. Then we don't need them here on the forum.

Hey Dennis, ok, I'll admit it, yours is bigger than mine!
But I can fold the rotors on mine and put it in the back seat of my car!

As a matter of fact, every time we wanted to test fly them, we had to sling it by the rotorhead, lift it with the forklift, back a trailer under it and set it down, tow it over the bumpy field, drive the forklift out to it, sling it up and pull out the trailer and set it down. Repeat to take back. Sometimes we had to do that 4 or 5 times a day to make adjustments back in the tooling room between test flights.

Hi Ed, I didn't forget about you, just got real busy. I'll be there, very interesting project you have.

The ones you saw fly only had Rotax 503's.

Hello Dennis,

you got me really interested now in your company. You mentioned "all was lost in the flood" but the UAV is a recent project, isn't it. What happened and where are you in terms of business today? Do you have a homepage? (In google your name as millions of hits but mostly from this forum :).

(If there was an explanatory thread I missed, I appologize in advance).

One more question to the "claw" control of the mini500. Inside the claw I expect something like a swashplate, a bearing with connecting push-rods. Is that right?

Kai.

Hello Kai,
I retired back in 2002, but got bored travailing and decided to make a R&D shop just to play. Some old overseas customers found me and needed some projects designed. I decided to help them out. Afterwords, another overseas company needed a large UAV helicopter, so I decided to take on the job, and my UAV business started. Now that I demonstrated an operational UAV, others wanted my surfaces, and it unintentionally grew into a business. I now also build rotorblades of other companies.

I don't have a website open to the public, only for the companies I deal with. I don't, at this time, deal with the public.

The control of the Mini-500 has no swash-plate. It is almost like half of a universal joint that has two push-rods attached to it.
