How do our Kiwi, Aussie and Great Britain friends celebrate the Fourth of July? Do you have picnics and fireworks too? ;)

Ken, I am sorry I missed this year wishing you all a great 4th july.
In Oz we celebrate Australia day on the 26th January, where we have picnics but no home fun fireworks. The only fireworks allowed are by the professional pyrotechnics people, who put on a great show but not as much fun as we had as kids with our penny bungers, tom thums sparklers for the little kids and skyrockets for the big kids.
We have been regulated out of having fun!!!!!!!!
All the best for a couple of days ago.

Ken
I lived in the UK for several years with the US Air Force at RAF Upper Heyford. The Brits were very tolerant of us Yanks as we celebrated the 4th of July. Picnic on the lawns of the Air Base and even had fireworks in the late evening ( in the UK it didn't get dark until past 9 PM). A few still referred to us as Colonists and you may have bumped into someone at a pub that said what they did in the '40. . . "you're over sexed, over paid and over here. . ." Since it was an open base and the local villages weren't too far away, the Brits would come and relish in the celebrations.
