thanks hubert, rehan, miles , and tina. Just looked at the forum today. I turned 39 in portland oregon. I was working in oakland , east bay area and my company flew me home with some funky connections. oakland , to portland , to houston , finally to lake charles. I left at 8:00 pm. and got home on my b-day at about noon thirty. Slept rest of the day. I did go flying today! My daughter came with me , she had never seen me fly, and really was amazed. She said that it was so cool the way that i just hung in the air, lol. Anyway, happy birthday tina, and yes, b-days close to xmas do tend to get you combination gifts and jolly wrapping paper. Hubert, happy b-day 2 u as well, i see yours is the 23rd. Merry xmas everyone

Happy Birthday Big Man !!!:whoo:

Miles , are you flying now?? or running the runway or working on your gyro? Manuel made his first Taxi today. Bill spent about 1/1/2 hours with him.

I met a guy through some ppc guys. He lives south of lake charles and has a great set up. He works at conoco as an operator but he is also an a&p mechanic. He refurbishes planes on the side and when he retires wants to do it full time. Anyway, he is going to be my annuals a&p guy. Hes got a huge hangar and a 2500 ft . grass runway. I took my gyro there about a month ago and he let me keep it in his hangar. He gets a kick showing it to everyone. So funny , that when i brought it there, he was doing an annual on a piper cherokee, that belongs to a guy that has a hangar next to bob simmons hangar , where I also keep my gyro. He is registering his airstrip, so you ought to see it listed soon. You will have to come down sometime and try it out, lots of open rural areas to fly around to.

Thanks John. Yes, another bday. Just a bit older than you though.

Hope you had a good flight today. I need to schedule some training with someone soon! How do you like that ultrawhite?

hey peanut, I am thoroughly enjoying my ultrawhite. It flies great. I really dont know how all the others fly. My only other comparisons are steves parsons trainer and his sparrowhawk. I can say that you can not make this ship porpoise, unlike how we trained on porpoise recovery with steve, and i definately like the open as compared to the closed cabin , flying experience.

I started to call you this morning to see if you want to come up here. I flew for an hour. Not because I wanted to (although I did want to) but because the rains left everthing flooded up here and it took me an hour to find dry land.

Hi Mark, it's good to hear you and John are getting some air time in. So far a pretty mild winter.

I've been trying to get a prerotator to work off of the Hirth redrive and Ernie can't build one from the pictures I've sent as he has to have it in front of him. So I'm stumped right now as to what I can do. I really don't want to go electric because of the high torque it puts on the mast, but I may have to.

Any suggestions?

Miles , send me some pictures of the left , right , and top of your motor, I will see what I might have to help out. I am looking into a belt driven prerotor on my KB 4. although the starter works ok. I don't like the sudden flex of the mast either.

OK Mark, I've got some. Send me a blank e-mail first, your address is on the old computer that got hit by lightning.
