I just received a call from FAA wanting some technical info on RAF accident South of Indianapolis yesterday. Aircraft pitched/rolled inverted from about 100 ft alt. Multiple fractures to lower extremities. Pilot's name is Warren Maddox (sp?) according to caller from FAA. I don't know if he's a member of this forum. Yes, there was a HS on the plane. I furnished him with several names of forum members much better equipped than I to answer his questions.

You might want to tell him (the FAA) there is a PRA sponsored response team for just this sort of thing.
Warren is a PRA Chapter 34 member and if I recall my newletter info reciently learned to fly the RAF.
I hope Warren is OK.
If there is anything I can do to help please contact me at once.
Warren our hopes are with you.

I have some photos from an old newsletter of Warren and his machine.
I don't want to post them and be accused of doing so inappropriately.
If you guys want to see the photos and you don't think it would be a mistake to post them please let me know.
I checked the major local newspaper and no info (thankfully).

Tim,
I'm probably not the most sensitive guy in this or any other group you might lump me in, however I can't think of any reason it would be inappropriate to to post some information or pictures of one of our group on our own forum. I for one would love to learn all I can about Warren and his machine. If I get a vote, I say post em.

Ok, That sounds good to me.
I will delete this post if there are objections...

Tim,
I don't see why anyone would have a problem with it.

Warren religiously hit the hanger and training every weekend. Sometimes he'd drive, other times he'd fly his fixed wing just to get a few hours on the stick.
Training seemed to be going very well and progressing towards becoming another proficient gyro pilot. He had just recently removed his gyro from our hanger and taken it home.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family Warren! Get well soon!

I have been advised that this gyro was involved in 2 previous accidents with damage history requiring replacement of rotor, prop, crankshaft etc. Hopefully this was complied with. I did advise FAA of the PRA response team but I was standing In my mule pen with cell phone and poor reception and not sure message was received.

I'm a member of the PRA IRT. I'll be in Indianapolis this Thursday, so will Greg Gremminger if I (or we) can help.

Tom:
Please keep us informed of any developments in this incident. As an RAF owner/pilot I'm especially interested.
