Hi
My name is Jim Sharer I live in central NY. I built a LW . Its got a Verner 133M engine. My only complaint is performance , the motor just doesn't have the climb I was hoping for . It makes about 340 lb of static thrust at 4800 RPM , pretty marginal on a hot humid day . I have been thinking about a VW with a redrive . Any thoughts

Go to Great Plains vw engine site. Look at what they claim for output with a redrive with a 84 inch prop. - 500 lbs of thrust vs about 275 with direct drive and a small prop.
There are some other threads here that list some static thrust test results.

Welcome to the forum Jim

Several of us here are working on tractors ourselves and are very interested in what you have built. Can you post any pictures and give us some specs as to what model of Littlewing you built and it's empty and gross weights?

Looks like it is about 50 miles west of Schenectady. South of I-90

Looks like you are about 260 miles away Brian.
