Ron, she posted this in the Sunstate/26 forum. I guess if we were members, we'd know!

Just a guess - Sunstate is either going all-electronic, or all snail-mail with newsletter/notices.

I haven't been able to read the electronic newsletter from day one. So, I need to receive a hard copy and I haven't to date received one.

My question is...If a member does not have a PC, or does not have the capability to download the newsletter, how is he to receive it?!

Cheers :)

I've not received a hard copy from you Joe if you sent it by USPS. Do you have my proper home address?

If you sent it by e-mail, I probably deleted it. I delete any e-mail, unopened, when I do not recognize the sender or the subject.

As noted in my edited post above...I was able to read the Sept. newsletter when I clicked on it today.

Thanks, Joe.

Cheers :)

That is an interesting interpretation. What I actually did is ask him if he was not able to open the attachment I sent him.

Nice to see an ex club member try to stir things up.

JR, If i understand your comment correctly your wondering why there has not been a more current newsletter. I was waiting for the arrangements for the River Ranch to be established since I thought this was about the most important thing we had going on. Scott just completed those arrangements today.

I hope to complete the newsletter this week, sorry for the delay.

It is 2007, not 1987.... people these days have computers.

And this is a club based on aviation and flying, neither of which is a cheap hobby to be involved in. Therefore, in my opinion, if you got the money to be involved with aviation, then you probably got the money to buy a cheap computer and have at least a 10$ per month dial up internet connection.

Therefore not having a newsletter mailed to you each month should not be a big deal.

Chapter 13 does a nice newsletter each month that is mailed to the members, but in reality it is a 5 minute read and then it is tossed in the trash. I personally save mine, but the truth is there is nothing really there worth saving. It would save our chapter ALOT of money if we were to stop mailing out newsletters and start using our website for monthly updates. The only reason I haven't pushed for doing away with our snail mail newsletter is the fact that our members are spread very far apart and because of this there is little we can do as a chapter as far as activity goes.... Having the newsletter being mailed out at least seems to give some " value " to the members in exchange for the 15-20$ a year they give us for dues. I think it is costing us almost a grand a year to put out our newsletter. This ends up sucking nearly all the money we make each year from incoming dues and profits from our ROC fly-in. I can think of far better things for the club to do with that 1000$ than to print up a newsletter on paper when it could be posted on our website for free.
