Well, yeah, the Fourth of July is coming up, after all.

Yeah but you would have to modify it to take the NEW style propane bottle, If you got low on fuel you could land, and borrow sombody's barbeque grill gas and be back on the way. :D

A couple of jet powered tip rocket prerotators, and you'd be breaking ground for JET-AGE private aviation! :) :)

I think a "V" tail would fit nicely.

Dang, After reading about you guys going on about it now I really wish I could have bought it and found a way to make a working safe flying machine out of it.

I can't believe it went for $6.5K! that is a chunk. I hope it does not get ruined. If the username is an indication it was bought by a young fella.

Put real blades on it, a V-tail as screw mentioned or maybe a long stab with twin rudders, new rotorhead and updated disablity insurance and I would be ready to go!

shucks. I hate being middle-income sometimes.

I don't think it sold. 0 bids. $6,500 was the starting bid. Maybe you could email the seller and buy it under the table.

... and a real piston engine, of course. Or am I missing something here? Is my poor English pissing on me again? Are you kidding, Tim? Do you believe that the jet engine can possibly work? To push a gyro thru the air?

John, do you think it didn't sell? Don't be so ambiguous. :p

Why wouldn't it work, thrust is thrust no matter how it's produced. And you wouldn't have to worry about torque roll from the prop either.[could have a bushfire problem out here thou.]

Sure the gyro will be pushed through the air. But I don't think that a pulse jet has much of a throttle control. Just a propane powered buzz-bomb (WWII) type engine.
I guess you reach down and screw the valve open and closed to control your thrust.

Birdy, I agree some day a properly designed and build jet engine can work if one reach a fine control over thrust (a difficult acomplishment), but THAT SPECIFIC jet engine on the picture doesn't inpires me. It appear to be a toy made of several parts the guy picked at his garage (and kitchen , for that sake). ;)
