What Fuel Pump? [Archive] - Rotary Wing Forum

I have the Tandem Elite with the F30 Hirth. The fuel pump thats there is a cylindrical one mounted in a clamp style holder. Anyone know what the actual pump is and where I can get one (other than from AC)?

James, it's probably a Carter brand pump...if it's about 6" long & 2.5" dia. They used them on the Subaru & the trainer with the F30. You didn't say what the dimentions were so I'm only surmising. Suggest you stay away from that brand & go with a Bosche for reliability. My 2 cents...

If its fuel injected, it needs to be high pressure (52psi) The Hirth dealer is a good source. The pump comes with a pre and post filter. I have two on my Dominator. One primary and one backup. When fuel pressure drops, the engine goes to idel so you have plenty of time to switch pumps.
