The LW has centrifugal teeter stops to prevent tail-rotor contact at low RPM.

I don’t know the exact interference between tail and rotor.

A few years ago Ron told me that with the centrifugal teter stops engaged (preventing excesive tetering) the rotor blades cleared the tail by about a half an inch. He said without the centrifugal teter stops the rotor would definitely whack the tail off if allowed to.

I don't remember which model he was referring to.

The teeter stops do work but it is possible to whack the tail with excessive blade flap as well, I've seen one. It is an excellent aircraft. Notice the stops "slung" out in the second photo.

If I remember correctly the teeter stops are designed to fly out at between 60 and 100 rrpm.

It is still very easy for a newbie to flap his blades above that rrpm. Certainly not a beginners aircraft, although the LW I flew was a joy to fly.

The only complaint I had with the LW design was the rotor to tail clearance.
