I'm looking for ideas for a good two place intercom.

I currently have the Ultra-com from Comtronics Engineering. But lately even with the Radio volume turned up I can hardly hear the radio. I can turn up the intercom volume but then the passenger blasts me out. I'm also using the helmets from Comtronics.

I've really never been happy with the comtronics unit. Does anyone have experience with another intercom that they could recommend. I would also want it to work with the helmets I have.

I have left a message with Comtronics asking if they can do a repair/upgrade to it. But I haven't heard back from them yet. And I still would like to try a different unit.

Chuck Roberg
Naperville, IL

Gyrochuck, a piece of garden hose is the cheapest way to go, and the quality will not deteriorate due to not much quality to start with!!!!!!!!!!! *LOL

Sorry to be so flippant. Between 1990 and 1997 I used the comtronics dual set up on my oen frame A/Command trainer. The main problems I found were the moisture oxidizing all the plugs, and the sockets in the intercom box would need changing every so often (2years). I used to have a can of aerosol electrcal cleaner on hand all the time.

Aussie Paul.

Good subject! Right now I have 1 Heli pro helmet from Comtronics. I like it but would not waste the money on the Gentex shield that I got with it. It does nothing to keep wind out of my eyes!

I will be buying a second helmet & intercom system this winter or when money allows. I always figured on Comtronics. They have new products ,according to their ads.

Paul, I didn't realize you used your Air Command up until 97. What did you do with it? Is it still flying? Any pics of it?
