Giday all. :)
There's a bit of a break in the muster'n here and the wife is in town so I got the comp to meself.
Liv'n out here, spendi'n most of me time one me own ,I get plenty of time to ponder the world's ills :( .And being on me own I listen to alot of radio[I never watch TV coz it's full of mind numb'n crap  ].I switch between commersial and public radio stations wich gives me both sides of most stories[commersial the right view, public the left].
One of my faverites is the enviroment.
For years we'v been bombarded with doomsday theroies on global warming, pollution and the end of civilisation from the burni'n of fossle fuels.
Make'n a living from growing cattle on natural pasture,I'v got to be aware of the state of health of the country I'm using,so I gess I am an accidental enviromentalist.
Being an enviromentalist,I should be concerned about the rate that mankinde is polluting the world by burning fossle fuels.

Well,I'm not.
If you think about the BIG picture of the planet, nature, how it all works and what has happened since the industrial revalution, manknid has given nature a big boost.
Look at it this way.
When we burn fuel[made up of millions of tons of old ,buried organic matter] we pump carbon into the air.
What is the major, basic building block of life??.Carbon.
The trees and grasses NEED carbon to grow, and they get it from the air.
Trees and grasses are the first link in the food chain of all life on the planet. So if there's plenty of carbon in the air, there's plenty of food for everything. :)
If man hadn't the brains to find out his life would be much more comfortable with the aid of machines, wich burn old fossles, then all this carbon would remain buried from nature, and it would eventualy starve to death.

The "greenies" also reckon that we're stuff'n up the "o" zone.Crap.
When Mt. ST Hellans [volcano] blew it's top,it spewed out more o zone burni'n dust in one day than we would in years.Methain from ruminant's burps and farts[cows and the like] has been going on for millions of years.
Sure, methain, volcanos and us are putt'n holes in the o zone, but it's no big deal coz nature has been compinsating for it for years.
If all these things are stuff'n up the o zone, why is there any o zone left??
Coz the more o zone that is depleated ,the more nature makes. If there's too much O zone, nature makes less,it's been balanced out since time began.

Where dose o zone cum from,??,lightning. The less o zone in the air,the more thunder storms[lightning],which makes more o zone.Nature's own balance. She's been do'n it long before man came along.

This theory helps me sleep at night after spending the previos day burni'n fossels in me beloved gyro. :D

How's that for a load of Oz philosophical crap?? ;)

Nicely put Birdy. I don't know if all you say is true, BUT you said it so nicely, and it does makes sense.

Birdy,
Well done !! What you said should put the wind up the scaremongers who blurt out all sorts of supposed scientific theories to make us worried about the future health of the planet. :D

Hmmmm........ It's been nearly 48 hours,and not a negative reply,I'm dissapointed.

Either I'm right [fat chance] or there's no tree hugg'n greenys read'n this forum.
I thought if I put some oppos'n views up I mite start another sh.tfight.

Aw well, gess I'll have to try another one oneday.

BTW,if you blokes are realy in agreeance ,I'm plesantly supprised.[althou,I was realy look'n for a sh.tfight, coz I reckon the forum's gett'n too quiet.]

Birdy,
Very few of us here are tree huggers. We're more interested in going flying, than getting splinters in our crotch hugging paperbarks or river gums. :D

Well Birdy, I know that there is one tree hugger that is a member of the forum, but I ain't him. I too, agree with you, wholeheartedly, and also with all the posts above. I like the way you think, Mr. Birdman. You plannin' to come to the U.S. anytime in the next decade?

Chuck, do you want Birdy to deal with the traffic congestion that's choking the freeways ?? Why that's a simple fix. Put them all into gyros, and have them buzzing around in the skies. That should have the air traffic controllers working overtime to no end.

Just think supermarket carparks become 'airparks'. When you land at major airports, you can get your purchases 'duty free'. And if you want to drive somewhere in your car, who going to be on the road ?? Only you, and emergency vehicles going about their duties. "Yes Siree, the car is sure economical on the fuel now. Don't have to stop much nowadays".

Birdy: I am a tree hugger. I come up to that oak..cherry..maple..or whatever..and squeeze it into a curved stairway. It supports my flying habit. Lately...I have had to hug more trees. :D

I know what you mean David. I haven't even seen all of the 900 square mile county I live in. Well, if you ever do get over here, you're welcome to fly my machine.

Chuck: I cant get more than a three footer in my cabin. Maybe you can strap some on your keel and fly me some to Illinois. :D

I am wanting to fly back to Frasca field to the SAA fly-in. I am waiting on a narrow band of showers to pass through. They had an awesome breakfast there yesterday.

Stan, are you talking about a 3' diameter log? Have you got a saw mill?
