One of my all-season flying buddies is getting out of the ultralight hobbie due to the wreck of our friend ( see accident discussions ). He is selling his craft. I don't have any details on it but I have pictures and this message he sent me:
I will make someone a great deal. I have 18 in it with tax & the price to have it built. I will take 10,500 for it.
If you are interested send me an email or message on the fourm and I will give you his contact info.

Tim, not to be critical or unfeeling because these events are certainly traumatic, especially when they are close to home. But, I shake my head and always wonder if these same people consider also giving up their car/truck, or whatever transportation they use to get to the mall or grocery store when they know someone that had a tragic auto accident. Different applications of rational, I suppose. And then a lot of times there is a significant other that has input and when that happens all rational goes out the window!

Dean,
I wholly agree. The general population has no idea what the mortallity rates are for any of the forms of transportation ( or recreation ) they use. People can so easily write off dangerous things just because they have become used to them.

Planes don't just fall out of the sky. Your buddy had to have tried to turn back to the runway and Stalled the plane and possibly got into a spin as well. Good training, level headed pilotage and a good pre flight inspection goes a long way to keep that stuff from happening.
The plane for sale is a Quicksilver GT-400. Nice plane, not a bad price but still a tad high for what it is. Good luck
