I made a short cross country flight from Lansing to Mentone today. About 70 nautical miles each way. When I landed Glenn Bundy and a helper were painting the tower with red and white squares so it should look first rate for the convention.

On the way back I stopped at Michigan City near the lake only to find I had just missed their annual pancake breakfast by about 1 hour. I was going to fly the lake front back but there was a TFR for the Gary Airshow. I flew along the lake until near the TFR then detoured south. I could see lots of smoke where the aerobatic planes were flying.

To make sure I would not have any conflicts I dropped down to about 500 feet AGL. About 5 minutes later I was passed by two jets (F-18's I think) about 5 miles away and my same altitude-- They were bookin fast

Xenon is just more fun every flight.

Being in Illinois has been a big success for us as we have given about 20 demo flights and sold several machines.

Hope to see a bunch of you at Oshkosh or Mentone.:peace:

NIce! You don't thing the jets were checking you out do you?

I would not expect that for an Airshow TFR.

Naw
The jets were just on their way to the airshow or doing the part of their routine where they fly far away then come in low and quiet behind the crowd and scare the bejusus out of everyone when they go to full burner just over your head.
