We have been very busy completing the requirements for the ASRA 2 seat certification inspection. We had to change the airframe to have a vertical mast and to allow the axle to be moved further back.
I have accumulated 70 hours in Firebird and found all the things that I would like to change, so we did them all while transfering the running gear accross to the new airframe a couple of weeks ago.
So, please keep your fingers crossed for me on Saturday next week.
Aussie Paul. :)

nckm@wave.co.nz Neil is in Hamilton new Zealand.
I am using the 2.43 ratio, the prop below the engine crank, with a 72" 3 blade Oz wide chord composite prop.

Firebird inspection and paperwork almost completed. I now only have to conduct the 25 flight test schedule and fill the appropriate numbers into the flight manual. :rapture:
Pleasing results with the double hang test and drop test. The drop test is required from 13" so we did it at 14". The MTOW in Oz is 1320 lbs so we dropped Firebird at1342 lbs. :rapture:
Solo with 1/2 fuel Firebird is approx 2" LTL.
Dual with 1/2 fuel Firebird is approx 2" HTL.
'will post pics at a later stage.
The guy conducting the ASRA inspection, hang tests etc made this video and this is the link to watch Firebird DROP.
