Would William Wynne's Corvair conversion make a good powerplant for a Little Wing?

For comparison:
a Rotec R2800 is 224lbs, 110HP @ 3600RPM, 5.8GPH
a typical Corvair is 230lbs, 100HP @3150RPM, 5.6GPH

a Corvair is about $8,000 complete (about half the price of the Rotec (but only 10% as cool)).

Corvair can't turn a large diameter prop direct drive, the Rotec turns a huge one.

I know it would be. I have one if you want a deal. We ran it at Williams last year.

The Corvair engine can turn a 68" 2-blade Warp Drive HP prop quite nicely direct-drive for slow movers like a gyro. $660, plus UPS Ground.

I've flown a couple of small FW experimentals that had 62hp GEO Metro motors with a Raven (www.raven-rotor.com) reduction drive. They seemed like they might be applicable to single-place gyros and not bad specs either weight-wise and cost-wise, even after adding the water cooling system (dry weight about 145 lbs).
