Great pictures!

I will scan the article for you. There might me a delay until I find my scanners power supply.

I mentioned the Monarch in an article I wrote for the local Ultralight club. I will let you know if it gets published.

Hi MItch
Is it possible to get one of those videos showing the musterers in action?
As you may know Brazil has the first commercial herd in the world and I think the Monarch would make a wonderfull tool for those ranchers.
thanks

Hey Heron,
I don't know if Birdy and his Buddies have the Mustering stuff together yet. I believe the are putting together a 2004 Nationals Compilation, which should have some mustering on it. Birdy may jump in here to give a more precise up date and I'm sure that we can get some footage to you in the near future. I sent Larry 3 Discs set of 2003 Nationals at Forbes. Viewed on Windows Media Player and easily copied, if you haven't seen it ask him to run off some copies. Failing that, I could send you a set.
Best regards,
Mitch.

I hope I can see Larry in a week or so, got a little side tracked in my plans.
Ken
Cockroaches are not good flyiers you might as well call it the Happy Hen, doing hen hops and eating bugs.
Selling Butterflies in the latino market will be quite an exercise of communication!
Man we are so macho that sickens me! Of course nicknames will abund . . .

Heron,

Can't you rename it for the latino market?

I have considered the name Die Fledermaus (The Bat) as a contender..

Wouldn't you know it? I was wandering around near the airport today, and what do I see? A Bumblebee, about to take off. I grabbed my camera real quick like, because I never saw this particular one around here before. The ROC was pretty impressive. His takeoff run was pretty short too.

Birdy, How did your gyro tail get torn off? Surely not in flight? I suspect a good story here....

Heron,

In the southeast we have cockroaches that fly just fine. They're called "Palmetto Bugs." They even make a loud buzz when they fly by, like a Mac.

Noth'n exciting Darrell,it's just that it didn't like me method of spot landing.[apparently I land more nose high than everyone else and the rudder woz always touchi'n first. So now I'v a new one that's cut at a 45 degree angle so the tailwheel touches first.]

You have to not only be an EAA member but an EAA member with the sport pilot and light aircaft subscription 'add-on'. I will scan a copy for all who want to see the article, I just have to find my powersupply or buy a new one. Should have something solved by the end of the weekend.

You know what?
I am right here at the Pompano Air Park and never thought of going over and ask those guys . . .there is an EAA chapter here! Matter fact Broward county has two EAA chapters.
No PRA chapter though! :(

Would be good for You and good for others. What is it 10 or so members and your a chapter. With summer here lots of Flying! Get with PRA Office and find out about starting a Chapter, or look on the web page (doubtful), but might. We need more Members, and Chapters. MJ :)

Actually, Mary Jane, Heron could start a Chapter with only 5 PRA members as the following I extracted from the PRA web site shows. I thought that was the case but had to verify it. If I had been 30 years younger I would have know that I couldn't be wrong. But now I'm never sure when I'm right!

What I extracted is only part of what is on the web site. What I find a little strange is that this info isn't part of the by-laws.

How to Start a PRA Chapter

A PRA Chapter is considered a local representative of the Popular Rotorcraft Association. Therefore, its principal purpose should be the same as that of the International Popular Rotorcraft Association: to promote the advancement of knowledge, public education, and safety among rotorcraft enthusiasts.

Eligibility

A Chapter must consist of at least five (5) members holding a current membership in the Popular Rotorcraft Association. The Chapter must elect at least three (3) governing officers: President, Vice President and Secretary-Treasurer.

Required Information

The group wishing to be recognized as a PRA Chapter must submit the following information to the Chapter Coordinator at the PRA Headquarters. PRA Headquarters will grant the Chapter a charter and number as soon as practical after receiving and approving the following required information:

The group name

The date of the original meeting (with officer election)
Names and PRA membership numbers of elected officers (All must be PRA members)
Address of the Chapters’ Headquarters.
Secretary's Report of the group's rotorcraft activity

The guys around here (Broward/Dade/Palm Beach) are a little skeptical with the PRA, some 2 years ago I've tryed to form the Brazilian Chapter and even send the paperwork to the PRA's counterpart there the ABG . . .still no chapter! :(
I would love to have a fly-in at Pompano Air Park, the media is right here and the attendance could be a starting point for much more gyro action down here.
Again comes the question: We form a chapter and than what?
We need programs to follow and tasks to do, other than that it is just our daily gyro routines . . .
I miss going to our Club meetings, darn it's been so long . . .
Heron
P.S. forgot to tell: I went to the airport yesterday and after asking 5 different people I could not get a single piece of info on how to locate a member of EAA, they know there is a chapter, but dont know when and where the meetings are held. It is very frustrating!
And I am sick of those looks when I say "gyroplane" . . .

How'd you go with that EAA article on the Monarch? Not pushing just wondered if you were still able to send at some stage.

Heron, and anyone looking for an EAA Chapter.

Try Here: http://www.eaa.org/chapter/chapter_locator.html

What airfield are you at in Broward? Used to be at Stuart and then at North County (F45) in PBC. Want to get to FL permanently. Massachusetts is really bad. High taxes, crappy wx (60F and drizzle last two days), nasty people, corrupt politics. Like a 3rd World Kleptocracy, but with snow. (There might be cannibals in Sierra Leone but the sun shines, you know?)

On the plus side it's safer than Afghanistan or Iraq. That's about it, though.

cheers

There are two EAA chapters here in Broward County:
1 - Pompano Air Park (frustration total, they are clueless)
2 - McIver (down south a grass strip wit houses around it) gotta go.
Thanks for the link and I highly recomend Florida as living place, I love it!
see ya
